The problem and benefit of a forum like this is that whatever is put down will be memorialized. Misinformation like what I said originally stays there, too. There were way too many Cubs sold to ignore them, or say it's an irrelevant relic. They built more of them, I bet, than the Beavers or B6000s, maybe more than both of them combined. The only one I ever was around lacked a 3 point hitch, so I never paid any attention to trying to use it with our PTO attachments.

I was speaking in broadly declarative terms, and was wrong. However I got there, through a mistake, ignorance, or whatever, my statement was incorrect, even though it wasn't at all deliberate or negligent. It's still wrong. Pretty clear-cut. Again, thanks for setting me straight.

I am the first to admit when I am wrong but don't go beating yourself up. I got the answer I needed anyway.

Roy are you such a relic?

yeah.. 3pt are hard to come by on them.. I use a pulley on mine and a belly mower using the onboard hyds.. neat lil 10-ish hp machine..

still, i'm sure they'll get over the overlook :) nada big deal in the large scheme of things.

the fact that we can all set here and discuss things we like.. now that's what's important!

Yes thats the important thing (hoping soundguy still speaking to me after the engineer thing (hangs head) LOL)

Gawd I love this site

Mama thinks I am crazy to spend as much time on here as I do LOL

Maybe you know the answer to this, my 4020 is powershift so my PTO is hydraulically driven. Does the clutch even affect the PTO?:confused2:
Are you sure about that? Doesnt seem feasible or wise to drive a ~hundred hp hyd pto motor on a field tractor. Yould be wasting a ton of engine power as hydraulic losses.

Yes I am sure it is actually a part of the transmission, it isn't like that on the gear driven models though

Just about ALL transmissions are gear drive however the mechanism to engage disengage the gears is accomplished hydraulically tvm
I agree with you there. I had been addressing the hilighted statement you made a while back. ... There is a fundamental difference between hydraulic drive and hydraulicly engaged drive.
