Yeah, I am concerned about pouring on the sod too. But I always take into account that I'm in Northern Missouri, he's not.

What concerned me most in the photos was how soft the terrain is by the ruts the concrete truck made. Where it's tires pushed the rock bed up the concrete is going to be very thin. Up here in North country that would immediately develop into a crack.

We pour on compacted fill or better yet compacted virgin clay soil with a layer of gravel, definitely no sod.

But again, I am sure the OP knows what he's doing. Your gonna love having a shop building. My wife says I need to add a bed in mine!!!

I have a 40 x 40 garage and it's too small already. My next building will be a 60 x 80.

I dont know 40x40, mine is 30x56 and it to small now.

I have found it is impossible to build a big enough building as no matter how big you build, you acquire until you fill it!:2cents:

Good observation. I packed and packed as much as I could by running my tractor over and over but it couldn't match the weight of the truck plus 9 yards of concrete.

I had planned ahead for the middle section to be at least 6" thick so maybe that will take up part of the tire tracks. Hopefully what happens will be the concrete will just be thicker in the tire tracks and the "pushed up" part will still be close to the original 6". Maybe instead of " Murphy's luck" I'll have "beginner's luck" and get by.

The roof was installed today and we would have finished the walls but the rat seal didn't come in with the rest of the material. Here are some more photos including the "double bubble insulation" installed under the metal roof.
