Kubota L3130
Back in 01 we purchased a new BX22. With loader and backhoe.

We sold it around 04 for a L3130.

Now we have realized how much we really needed a tractor that size for mowing as our current riders are only 2wd, and our terrain/natural springs require 4wd.

Looking to see what you guys recommend.

Dont need a backhoe. Really only something that has a rear PTO, 3point. Ability to have a bucket on the front, and a belly mower.

I envision us having a loader, belly mower, and a offset rear PTO mower. We have 19 acres. Mix between flat grass, crazy hills, and rough terrain. The main flat area's I mow with teh Z turn mower, but there's just some places I cant take it that I use our 2wd Deere at.

Kubota BX series is still a top choice. New Deere models pending may be worth waiting for. Massey Ferguson and Kioti also have nice small units.

Our BX is just about the handiest thing around... wouldn't want to think about getting along without it.

Since you liked the BX you had I don't see how you could go wrong with another one.
I know i love my BX23 and the 2 BX1500 tractors.

I may not understand your need but if you are saying you want to mow 19 acres of crazy hills and rough terrain I think the BX is too small. Ground clearance and the size mower you can work for large areas would be the issue. If the flat grass part is what we are talking about mowing the BX may be the ticket. I am also not sure what you mean when you say offset rear PTO mower. If you are thinking something like a rotary mower that is offset to mow ditches or pond banks then the BX is way undersized in my opinion.

A little more detail will help with recommendations.

We have a Scag zero turn that does just fine on majority of the grass. We need a subcompact mower, with the ability to have a bucket or rear pto implement when needed. 4WD is a must.

I have a old Deere 420 lawn tractor. It does a great job, till I need 4wd. Then I have to go get teh L3130 with the bush mower and mowing around trees and what not is no fun when you are 20' long.

Im looking for a replacement for the Deere.

I can mow everything with the Scag if I was given completely dry ground.

If I could install 4wd on our deere for $1000, I would do it in a heartbeat.

The only Sub-Compact series im familiar with is teh BX series. Thats why Im reaching out to see if there is anything else I should really consider.

Offset rear PTO mower? You mean something like a sicklebar mower

or a small drum mower?

Since you seem to like the Kubota, I'd go with another BX. Maybe even a small B series.

The BX1860 caught my eye, but at that point you might as well up to the 2660.

Is there any benefit of going with a new model vs the older ones?

We really like the thought of sticking a cab on it with a snow blower in the winter. Much more maneuverable then our 3130
