Kubota B26 TLB
.... got put right to work not even 5 mins after it showed up from the dealer!!!!

So far I must say this is one great little tractor. Very happy with how well it works. I just with it had the auto-throttle on it.

Welcome aboard. That little B26 is a great machine, I'm sure you'll get lots of great results from it!

Congratulations on your new machine, I don't really need one, but looked at a B26 not long ago; very nice size.

NICE looking machine. And not so "little," either--LOL

I realize that the B26 is a construction-grade machine, but I'm curious about the sunshade--I like the recessed, molded-in areas for the work lights. If the OP or anyone else knows, is that the same exact sunshade, or a similar design, to the "Deluxe Sunshade" offered as an option on the B2630?

Sorry--not trying to hijack the OP's thread--just admiring the equipment. :)

thanks everyone yes im enjoying it alot as theres lots of work to be done around the yard with it. As well as theres a 54 inch snowblower on the way for it to clear driveways this winter. So it's gonna be going to work for sure. we had to send it back to the dealer tho to get the backhoe controls changed over to the cat pattern from the john deere as it drove me nuts where I'm used to running excavators and other equipment thats always on the cat pattern not the john deere. I can run both but jsut more use to the cat and would rather keep it that way for saftey with any other places I may get work with. it was another $1,000 to get changed over but $1,000 is alot cheaper then some getting badly hurt on a job site.

Ahh! Gotcha! LOL That might also explain what a neat, clean (and presumably quick) job you did there, with your new machine. Very smooth backdragging!

My Dad had a construction co. from 1970-1990, so I know what you mean, about "the big stuff," which I got to play with, in "yard jobs" (where I didn't need to be on the insurance as an employee, etc....) I think his 977 Cat weighted 17 tons, and the Grove hydraulic crane weighed 55 tons (the same amount it could pick, roughly) and so I "get it." What really opened my eyes was watching a hard-packed, gravel parking lot, that had had loaded semis running over it for years, actually sink down and "spring up," about 3/4", immediately after the rear tires of the 55 ton crane rolled over it. I was impressed then, and it obviously stayed with me--LOL I wouldn't have believed that a rubber tire could deform a hardened, stone-packed parking-lot like that, until I saw it with my own eyes--it was like it was "plastic"--once the tire was off it, the parking lot "popped" back up like it had never moved.

Hey--can you please educate me on the difference between the John Deere and "Cat-pattern" of backhoe controls?

I'm looking at a Woods BH 80-X "Groundbreaker," and I wondered which style those controls were-or perhaps they're in yet a third configuration?

Also--what model hoe is that? What I really mean is, it is an 8' depth, or more, or less? Just curious. Thanks.

My Hoe

the controls are set up like this

John deere uses the backhoe setup with the (right control being ahead and back is stick out and in) and (bucket right and left being curl and uncurl) and then with the (left control being ahead and back is boom down and boom up) and (right and left being swing right and swing left)

Cat or excavator control is the same only the boom is on on the right and the stick is on the left. so really its just the boom and the stick are switched but it is enough it can throw alot of people off. it even throws me off for a bit going back and forth when I have to cause I'll get use to one within an hour and then have to go back to the other and be all messed up again and have to get use to it again.

ps. that backdrag was just a quick rough backdrag with the bucket in float I did the grade going forward with the bucket level and used the curl and dump of the bucket to fallow the grade like a dozer i didnt worry about it being perfect as it gonna get some topsoil on it yet anyways at some point.

pps. the hoe is a bt 820 its an 8' depth most frost walls here are about 4-6' and most basements are 8' so this will do any job I need of it

oh and im working on getting a youtube set up so i can post some video of the new toy asap.
