Front side of mounting.
Thanks for the info.

Marveltone:
Thanks, thats encouraging. I will probably purchase the Countyline 5' Box Blade from Tractor Supply then. I was hoping it wouldn't be too big.
My tractor is 2 wheel drive. Now I need to go research what R1 tires are.
I know they are the standard looking tractor tires not turf tires but as far as R1, I don't know.

Without confusing the issue with all the variations, here are the three basic tire types most compact tractor owners deal with:

R1 = standard agricultural chevron tread
R3 = turf
R4 = industrial

Ground engaging equipment needs lots of traction to get it working. Since yours is a two wheel drive, you'll definitely want filled R1 (Ag) tires for all the bite you can get. I sometimes wish I had a second set of rims/tires so I could swap them for different jobs or conditions, but for general use around the yard, I like my turfs.

In that case, I have R1 tires. Not filled though. I will try to post a picture of it, hope it works.

A 5' box blade might be ambitious for a 2wd 1510. Besides loading the tires, the OEM 66lb rear weights would help as well, but they are tough to find. I finally found 4 on Ebay. Well worth the search and money.

Mike,

Ok. The pics of the mount are from under left side front looking up. The side views should give some idea of proportion. Owner's manual says the top of the rops is 85.9" high.

BTW - wish mine was as clean as yours:thumbsup:

This may be helpful (or not) as far as service goes. Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks, The picture was taken right after I unloaded it off my trailer. It seems that it was well cared for. I actually went to look at a 1710 with Front End Loader and 4 Wheel Drive which I really wanted but it turned out to be in bad shape. Saw this one on the way to look at the 1710. It was sitting in a yard with a for sale sign on it. So I stopped to have a look on the way back. Price seemed fair and a lot less than the guy was asking for the 1710.

Thanks again, you have been very helpful with the information provided. Right now the only other info I need would be the drain / fill plug locations. I am on the look out for a Owners Manual for this tractor. Missed out on one on ebay.

That cab on your tractor looks pretty neat. Is that a tiller on the back?

Now I am trying to figure out the 3 point hitch check chains, they were not hooked up when I got it. There is only one turnbuckle on the right side as looking from the rear. Made some new plates for the differential to mount the turnbuckle to on the right and a chain on the left. Wish it had both turnbuckles but I have seen tractors with a chain on the left side, just have to get the length right so it can be tightened up with the turnbuckle and be able to adjust for different width implements.

Then I will be getting the 5 foot box Blade, seems a 4 foot would be to narrow, and the 30 inch Dirt Scoop.

Mike,

Try this for the drain plugs - out of the owners manual but the pictures aren't the best. Should be good enough - I added some arrows pointing to the locations. The rear axle and the transmission have a common oil source. The fill plug/dipstick is on the top of the trans - black plastic about 1 1/2 " in dia.

No, no tiller yet. That's a Ford flail mower. The cab is a Curtis, has a w/wiper and heat. Soft sides (off for the summer). Great in the winter - I can plow snow in a t-shirt. The downside is it is HEAVY. I have to use a elec. hoist to remove it, so it stays on all year. They literally don't make 'em like that anymore. Solid (rusty) steel. The whole tractor is scheduled for a "cosmetic" treatment as soon as I finish my workshop.

Thanks again for the info.

Finally got to use the tractor for the first time yesterday. It came with a scaper blade, I was flatening the top of a little hill, I was impressed with the power it has.

Another question:
How do you know if you are getting maximum lift from the 3 point hitch system?
The blade only comes off the ground about 4-1/2 inches. Is there some sort of adjustment to make sure that max lift can be obtained? The links from the lift arms are attached to the outer most holes (away from tractor) on the 2 lower lift bars. Looking to make sure the upper arms are getting full travel.

Thanks
Mike
