Does anybody use the WIX 51736 Hydraulic Filter instead of the NAPA Gold 1736? Any opinons on differences? Is one better than the other?

Wix supplies both Napa and Carquest. All top of the line.

The NAPA 1736 Gold FIlter is $32.69 ea. and the WIX 51736 which I believe is the same filter is $16.34 ea. at fleetfilter.com, in case anyone is interested. I just ordered 2 of these.

Finally got all my supplies together, Filter and Hyd. Oil, Does the 1510 have the wire mesh filter referenced in some posts on other models? Looking at the parts diagrams on NH web site I didn't find a wire mesh screen filter . I assume it doesn't have this, but wanted to make sure so I don't disassemble that area unless needed.

Any other pointers on the Hyd. Oil change I may need to know about?

I believe the 1500 has a wire mesh filter, while the 1510 does not.

After you change the hydraulic fluid, idle the tractor for a good 10 minutes so the fluid circulates nice. Then you can run it. After the tractor has been parked, the fluid may go down a little. If the 1510 is like the 1710, the hydraulic dipstick is under the seat, behind the shifter. Make sure when you check the fluid, the dipstick is not screwed in, it just wants to sit on the threads.
