By "rigid mount", you mean a subframe, correct? A subframe is always
better, except in cost.
Yes I meant the subframe. And I agree that the subframe is always the best but this set up looked very interesting.

Now if you are comparing the use of cat 1 toplinks
above instead of the usual anti-lift bars that come with subframe mounts,
then I would be confident that using toplinks would be about as good.

The photo shows the braces you get with Woods 3-pt hitch setups. These
2 Z-shaped braces may have more meat that a std cat 1 toplink, but I
am confident the std toplinks will be fine.
Of course, I am in no way suggesting that anyone should put a hoe on a cat
1 3PH, especially on a little B.
Oops, I meant to say 3-point hitch mounts instead of subframe mounts
in the above sentence.
Another interesting Italian backhoe (Gherardi), SWEDEN.
One super-easy upgrade you might try is to convert your joystick handles
to balls, instead of the OEM plastic caps. It makes them much easier
to use. You can drill holes in 2 golf balls....works great for this and
the TIFERMEC, too.
Tifermec use three cat 2 toplinks for strength in their 3pth setup. It looks like the Gherardi uses cat 2 toplinks as well in their stock 3pth setup.
... Thats correct. My concern was not the size of the toplinks it was the toplink bracket (is this the correct name?) where they were attached to. This bracket took all the beating while digging, the lower lift arms was not much for a help. I was worried to rip out the bracket and all of the lift box while digging
But I bet my Mahindra has not as sturdy bracket as your Kubota has so maybe there is no worries.
If you have not read dfkrugs subframe thread I can recommend you to do that, very much information.
Here it is > http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/build-yourself/171760-how-build-your-own-custom.html
Should be a sticky![]()
BTW, your subframe thread was very helpful, I read it many times when I designed my subframe.
