Big trouble with new Diesel.

This is one reason why I hate to buy a used and modified truck. You never know what corners someone cut or how they screwed something up. I would never buy a used truck that had been lifted or lowered. So few people do it correctly. Not to say I will never lift my truck, I just won't buy one already. When Mom & Dad were looking to buy a truck back in '04 or '05 we found a nice 2000 Silverado. It had a K&N CAI/filter on it and a couple of other things. I asked for the truck to be returned to stock and have the odometer reprogrammed for the different size tires (It came w/ 245/75R16s and had 265/75R16s w/ is also a factory tire size for this truck), the dealer refused to do anything to it - evening the programming for the odometer (Chrysler not GM dealership). So we walked. Found a nicer looking truck w/ less miles and less money and was stock except it needed new tires. The dealership came down in price and agreed to pay for new tires if Dad installed them (Dad was a tire guy, so he could do that) Guess which one truck they bought?

Do you see the warning signs? Run Forest run... If you keep the truck then please do mo come back complaining when something else breaks... Not a matter of if, but when....

:2cents: I have had 6 diesel trucks all 7.3l fords or 5.9l dodges only major issues in 1,194,000 miles have been 2 48re dodge trannies, starter and vacum pump about every 150k, brakes, ujoints and ball joints every 100k NONE in for warranty work or other major issuies

thus the reason I have stuck with these old school setups. I could not imagine how I would handle it if I was in your shoes :confused:and can only bet the dealer wants this finished also.

I know you like this truck but don't have blinders. Its just so deep right now I can not believe you have not run. If the wheels are not right what else is not and what will be next.?:confused2:

Going to see the lawyer today. He is going to deal with the truck from now on.

Right on,
To me it sounds like the stealership sold you a lemon, knowing it was a lemon and passed the bill on to you. I hate stealerships-they rob you of your esteem and dignity.

I am glad I got a Lawyer. He has sent them a letter listing all the problems with the truck, and all the parts of several laws that apply. he has set a time limit to have the truck ready for my use. He is pretty sure the letter will be enough to get them moving. If it is not then he says we can take care of this in small claims court. He also explained that all my attempts to work with the dealer will really play well with a judge. The Dealer will have the letter on Monday. The cost to the lawyer will be less than $500 even if I have to go to small claims court.

You know, you have a point! I had thought about what you said, and I really feel like a dope. I keep saying to my wife "be honest, do I look like an idiot?' Am I that stupid looking that these guys feel they can treat me like crap. They have made me lose my temper in a public place. They act like they are doing me a favor just by talking to me. I get no call backs from them. I wonder if this is just an anomaly, or if many other people are treated this way at dealerships?

IMO, Standard dealership practices. They treat customers poorly and anything wrong is always someone else's fault.

Interesting how that guy Dargo stays away from all of these type threads.
