Buying Advice looking at buying a Yanmar, have some questions

I'm going to look at the 3220d in person this afternoon. It's a private party, and they want $8000 for it. It has only about 1000 hours on it, and has a ROPS and canopy, and a small FEL. No other implements, though.

$8,000 for a machine of that size seems pretty good to me, if the 1,000 hours are for real. You aren't gonna find a 36 hp tractor for any less than 15,000 new, right? If that.....could be more. If you have 15+K, go for it!! If not, the Yanmar (or similar used tractor) could be a good deal.

I f I was gonna buy new, it would be an LS from RCO in Texas. They are assembled in Korea with Mitsubishi diesel engines, have a five year warranty. 28 hp is around 15K w/loader and bush hog. Where does that put a 36 hp tractor? (gulp!)

LS, the same company that made Farmtrac, then bailed out. I think id stay away from them and Montana, also a LS company. That parent company has left many folks and dealers with a bitter tast with no parts support and no warrenty support for farmtracs.

I agree with you on that 1. But, it can happen with other contract built tractors ie, massey, case, etc,. If I'm not mistaken ,LS is the parent company that built these other tractors. They must not have sold very well so, they discontinued that line or name.I believe They (LS) builds tractors under the Mccormick name

Wrong. They made tractors FOR Farmtrac & Montana. This is their own line, they went off on their own. Nice machines. If you have the $$ :licking:

There's a thread on here somewhere about this. In summary, Farmtrac was sold to investors from India who stripped its assets then departed. LS of Korea, one of the suppliers to Farmtrac, then entered the US market retailing tractors under their own name.

That listing screams SCAM. All the scam Kubota listings have that excessive bright color and soft focus that you notice immediately, all caps, no location information, and an asking price thousands less than I see on Tractorhouse. Caveat Emptor!
