Well I ordered the one from FAB HEAVY. But now that I received it and tried to install it, I found out it is definitely the wrong model. Almost all mounting holes are positioned differently. It is basicallay a slightly bigger pump. Also the axle (if that's the correct English word) is longer than the original.
So that is a big disappointment... :)
I will see if I can order it elsewhere and now that I have dismounted my original, I will try to compare it before ordering.

[EDIT: (jan 20, 2025) I updated the attached illustration because I now believe I was mistakingly mentioning the wrong engine code in it ]

Sorry for the part mix up, though sadly, not uncommon with older machines.

Now that you have the pump off, can you see any markings, for example part numbers on the pump?

Around here, I would suggest taking the old pump to a marine parts shop that might have Yanmar parts and seeing if the technical person can match it.

In general, around here, a heavy duty long round solid cylinder (rod), and weight bearing, as in a truck, or car has an axle ("As"? in Dutch?), and the smaller versions are referred to as "shafts", (I think "Schacht" in dutch, but that isn't, I believe, the Dutch usage, which is I think "Pomp-as". Sorry, my dutch is terrible.) Either word works axle/shaft. Idiomatically, shaft.

All the best,

Peter

I looked at the old pump. The only identification I can see is "AISIN". After Googling I found this is a Japanese part manufacturer.

But I think I found the correct pump:

So now I am wondering which engine I have.
They list these engines:
2T72
2T75H
3T72HL
3T75HA-S
2T72HLE, 2T72HLE-S, 2T72HLEG1, 2T72HLEG1-S
2GMF, 2GM20F, 2GM20F-YEU, 2GM20FC-YEU,
3GMF, 3GM30F, 3GM30F-YEU, 33HM35F, 3HMF,
3GMFVE

Similar pumps can be found on the FAB Heavy Parts site (and also on Aliexpress).

In general the search term Yanmar 121000-42100 seems to yield correct results.
In the Yanmar documentation for the 3T75H-LTBS the water pump assy seems to have the code D21521-42100, so the 42100 is probably a code for water pumps and D21521 seems to be related to the 3T75H-LTBS engine.

Anyway, I am beginning to think that my engine is NOT the 3T75H-LTBS but one of the abovementioned list. 3T75HA-S seems to be the closest to 3T75H-LBTS, so who knows..... :)

[ IMPORTANT EDIT Jan 21, 2025: Actually the 3T75H-LTBS service manual DOES mention the correct water pump: 121000-42100.
I was mistakingly talking about D21521-42100 which is some kind of code for the entire parts page, or something like that.
Anyway 121000-42100 is the correct water pump for the 3T75H-LTBS, even though water pump suppliers do not list the 3T75H-LTBS in the list of engine codes for this water pump! ]

I think I will order again from FAB Heavy Parts, since they were very quick last time. I ordered on Saturday and I received it in the Netherlands on wednesday.

I will also see if I can return the wrong model.

Keep you posted.

I wonder if your machine's original engine was replaced.

Near the starter should be the engine ID plate.

The 3T75HA-S could be a true mountable replacement engine.

Thanks, yes, it could very well be possible that my machine's original engine was replaced, given the fact that it has also been transformed from an excavator to a forklift. I tried to find a serial number or engine code near the starter but everything is covered in a thick layer of dust and some grease, so that was not successful.

Depending on when the engine was made in what era,

Some engines have the ID near the top, like this 3T75HL

It is not all bad to clean things off on occasion. Not only does it make finding part numbers easier, but it reduces the chances of fire. The latter is a large concern here, especially around hay and hay dust, but understandably perhaps less of a concern in the Netherlands.

Good luck!

All the best,

Peter

True, but it was a Sunday evening and already dark, misty and freezing so it didn't feel like the perfect moment. The YB20 is outside at the moment, very close to my tools/workshop. I am concerned about fire though, so I'll clean it as soon as I can. Maybe I'll find the engine ID / serial in the process.

Dark, misty, cold, sounds like Northern European winter weather! I can sympathize why getting out and getting even wetter might not have been at the top of your list.

Good luck!

All the best,

I found yet another site with the pump (I think) I need. This site also mentions all dimensions (photo 2 which I also attached to this reply) plus some useful info about typical causes of failure of this pump and a list of engines in which this pump is used, like (amongst many others) 3T72HL and 3T75HA-S. So it looks like my YB20 does not have the standard 3T75H-LTBS engine. Maybe the original engine was replaced by a previous owner, who knows...
The dimensions are almost the same as the ones I quickly measured. It's just that I took the photo from the other side, so the order of the measured dimensions is the other way around.
