Can anyone explain how to unlock the draft control on my 4720h. The manual outlines a procedure that is nothing like like what is on my tractor. I think the manual references the standard 4720. I attached a few cell phone pics if they help. Thanks

Can you post a pic of the right side of the 3pt, looking at the back of the tractor.

On the 3520, near the top, on the right side is a 12mm bolt that needs to be loosened to pivot the draft stop out of the way.

Maybe I'm not describing the situation using the correct terminology. The draft control is "locked" under normal use. Therefore it is normally in position control and you are only supposed to "unlock" it when you need draft control. I guess that most people don't need or use it, but since it's a feature on the tractor I should learn how to use it. I was hoping some other owners/dealers of this model could weigh in. Sorry if I'm not describing it very well, this is my first tractor.

That sounds like the procedure outlined in my manual, but there is no bolt to loosen and it looks nothing like the pics in the manual. There is some linkage that can be activated by hand which causes the draft control to work, but I'm not smart enough to figure out how to get it to work autonomously. I will get the good camera and take some decent photos on Monday.

I have never seen a Branson tractor, but I think your "draft stop" can be seen in the center from the overhead pic.

The top of the yoke assembly needs to pivot around the bottom pin in response to compressive loads on the top link as the draft increases and decreases.

Maybe this will help. I have marked the lever that can be operated by hand. It is connected to the top link mount via linkage, but only the lever can be moved. It appears that a "spacer" needs removed in order to allow the top link mount to move, which would operate the linkage. Maybe remove the bolt that I marked and remove the "spacer"?

You may have to zoom in on the photos.

Thanks. Sounds like I might be on the right track. I was working on the last post when you posted.

It looks to me like the tab under the smaller upper bolt is welded to the spacer.

There is likely an internal spring mechanism that pushes out against the yoke to lower the arms when the draft decreases. The larger bolt is likely to be what holds the yoke against the spring mechanism.

Look closely to see if the smaller top bolt is the one to remove.

I think you're right. I'll look at the small bolt next time I'm at the farm. Thanks for the help.
