4720h Draft Control

You're welcome.

It looks to me like the tab under the smaller upper bolt is welded to the spacer.

There is likely an internal spring mechanism that pushes out against the yoke to lower the arms when the draft decreases. The larger bolt is likely to be what holds the yoke against the spring mechanism.

Look closely to see if the smaller top bolt is the one to remove.

Maybe not remove but loosen it and swing the "spacer" out of the way of the yoke.

I think you're right. I'll look at the small bolt next time I'm at the farm. Thanks for the help.

Can you post what you found and if removing the small bolt got the draft function to work. Thanks

Well, I removed the small bolt one day, but the spacer was too tight to remove or swing out of the way. It appears to be pinched and I would need to loosen the larger bolt. I didn't have the right socket to loosen it that day and have basically forgotten about it since. I am going to be there on Sunday, so I will check it out and let you know.

Took out the small bolt and loosened the large one (there is a nut on the back side). I was able to get the spacer out and it appears this unlocks the draft control. I didn't have time to try it out, but it looks like it will work fine.

1st pic is view from top, 2nd pic is view from right side, 3rd is left side, 4th is bonus pic of my daughter shopping at the farm store (apparently she needs a new tape measure)

Looks like the op isn't on this site anymore but does anyone else have information on this? Does doing this procedure enable draft control?

I'm still on the site, just not very active. The procedure described does enable the draft control.

Oh awesome! It's been a couple years since the last time you posted so I figured I was it of luck.

How do you set the level of draft control? Is it just a matter of it being on or off? Or is there a way to adjust the amount of draft pressure before it raises the 3pt?

There is a lever right next to the one that raises and lowers the 3pt. It looks very similar to the 3pt control. Moving the lever toward the rear of the tractor decreases the allowable draft pressure. Basically it will raise with less pressure as the lever is moved backwards.

I don't remember a lever being in the door you describe. Actually I remember a slot for a lever to be next to the 3pt lever but it's not there.

Does this mean the draft control isn't available for the new 4720h's? Or is it that the lever is just missing?
