Jerky LSeries 3pt Hitch Fixed

   / Jerky LSeries 3pt Hitch Fixed #181
As far as I know, the jerky issue is mainly on the "Standard" (Economical) L series. For correcting the problem, they swap out to a Grand L valve (a little birdie said it might be from a L3010???) Which STILL WORKS for this series tractor (kubota's "stand" has been that this no longer fits is wrong based on what I hear). The same one that was put into my tractor.

Hopefully, will have more information coming from the mechanics that have replaced a few of them (and still replacing some of them). Have to wait...

AGAIN, IF ANYONE OUT THERE WITH A L2800, L3200, L3400, L3700 OR L3800 that does NOT have a jerky hitch (which was NOT fixed), please let us know. This has been ask a couple of times... even a dealer on this site has not shown us a smooth one, yet. A video of the 3ph being raised *very* slowly with a boom pole or post hole digger.

Yes. As noted earlier I expect it to ship by Friday! We only need one if it has the info we need.
BandDcabinet, hey, regardless of the outcome, I would like to chip in $20 for your trouble, can you PM me, your address?

I feel that this dealer who claims to have a smooth l series tractor from the factory has put their foot in their mouth. Its not hard to take a two minute video to shut all of us tbn'ers up

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting on any dealer to comment. They are bound to the manufacturers position and really can't do much at this time; at least that's my guess. IMHO this isn't a reflection of any dealer at all.

Wishing you all the best in getting this figured out.

I'm surprised to see anyone of them making a comment... I'm sure they are told not too.

Ok, a new TBN member just bought a New L3800 and the dealer installed a grand L valve... but the dealer had to pay for the valve after the kubota rep. didn't "ok" the replacement. New member was NOT going to buy the tractor if the hitch was jerky.

I might go see it tomorrow... video in hand ;)

My L3800 is in the shop for the same problem. The dealer says they are confident it can be fixed. Unfortunately, I'm 150 miles away - otherwise I'd be "camped out" in the service bay with my K until it was fixed. I have pulled off many of the comments and suggestions noted in this thread and will fax it to them on Monday AM. So - just to recap all this - am I correct in these assumptions:

1) Swapping the valve out for a Grand L valve will solve the problem.

2) The existing valve could be tweaked by adjusting it by trial and error (time consuming process)

3) The hydraulic lines might be routed incorrectly - the factory return line coming off the steering gear is routed into the suction line just before it enters the pump. A revised metal tube assembly might correct this.

Is this a good summary?????? I want to present these options to the dealer for his consideration.

Thanks,
TK.
