Ok I'll try and post some of these in smaller batches.
Warning.. Some of these are not in focus, not sure if adult beverage will help. Some were so bad I won't even post them.

Lets start with why I wanted the barn. I have a small 2 1/2 car garage.
Let take a look shall we?

The crew arrived almost an hour before the materials.
Seemed like a good bunch of guys.. The have to drive a little over an hour each way every day to get out to my place.

Here are the last photos of the day..
They got most of the posts in and were starting to put top joist on.. They are using glue-lam for these top joists and they seem to be PRETTY heavy. So I'm guessing that's why they decided to call it a day. Also they included the wrong posts for the shed roof. They said they will bring the correct ones tomorrow.

DAY TWO.

Looks like they will put in about 6 hours a day.. They get there just before nine am and leave around three. But they do have over an hour to drive each way. The foreman told me they wont be done until Monday or later.

Ok here are some photos of the first truss going up.

Sorry for the delay in posting.
Here is the day three. Sure seems like it's taking a while, but I guess you shouldn't rush quality work. LOL

Day Four.. They finally started putting some siding on.
I'm starting to have a few questions about the build now.
My colors are as follows. Bright white roof, Red Siding, Bright white Wainscot, and Black Trim. On the right side they have the first wall of red siding up and no trim under the sheets to mark transition from Side to wainscot. Is this normal, because on the front there is some trim. Seems like the trim is more then just an accent but something to help direct water flow.

Wedge40: Are they putting the metal roofing fasteners on the ridges or on the flats? Are they using nails or screws?

There's another thread discussing that, & I'm curious.

Looks like all metal is fastened using screws on the flats.
Once they got to the sheeting I didn't hear any hammers any more, just the screw guns.

Wedge,

Congratulations on your new barn. It has a nice proportion to it. What will the floor be?

John

I'm doing the cardinal sin of pole building and wont be doing the floor till sometime next year. Currently the plan is 2" of packed gravel, 6mm plastic, 2" of Rigid Foam, 5" of cement with either 1/2" or 3/4" PEX.

Day Five and Six.

Got the doors hung, all the windows in and almost all the siding and trim on. Had to come back today to finish siding and trim. They actually scheduled 7 days.
