What truck to pull Kubotas

I think the Dodge may have beat the Chevy in some areas... Thus they didn't show. I agree it was lame to not have the dodge in every comp.

They also didnt use the Dodges new 800torque diesel.. But I have narrowed it down to Dodge but cant deside mega cab or regular crew in the dually. And do I really need 4x4 or is it something I can do without..

Mega cabs are great for hauling extra gear and people, but make sure you DO get the 8' bed:thumbsup:

As far as the 4x4 go, if the truck always sees pavement and you dont get any/much snow, you may be able to do without.

For me, in ohio, 4x4 all the way. Even if it didnt snow, going off road, cutting wood, maybe pulling trees/logs, 4x4 is nice. So consider you use of this new truck carefully.

All of the discussions dealing with power have only focused on the engine. There needs to be a great deal more discussion on the gearing. A differential with a 4.6 to one ration will seem WAY different in pulling ability as compared to a 3.2 ration.

Do you want a freeway cruiser or a short run puller. I had a 77 Ford 3/4 F250 that I pulled a 16' gooseneck trailer with that made my 95 Dodge look like a joke. But on the flip side, the Dodge will do freeway miles for days on end.

The Ford would do 65 tops and the Dodge cruised at 70 MPH at 1750 RPM. HP wise, the Dodge numbers were stronger but the gearing made the Ford a better puller.

IMHO, look to the rear of the flywheel, as well as the engine, for pulling ability.

I'll put my 2 cents worth in. I have had my 2011 dodge crew cab for 10 months now. With the exception of not so good fuel Milage I love it. As far as the Megga cab goes I think you would like the eight foot bed better than the extra space in the cab if you are pulling with a goose neck or fifth wheel. I just finished a 4000 mile RV trip pulling a 39 ft fifth wheel. My father in law was pulling the same weight with a 09 ford. He out pulled m on the big hills, but has had to rebuild the motor at 69000 miles. Also Dodges crew cabs are a lot bigger now than they use to be. You will like the extra bed space of your using it for what a truck is used for. I just wished I would have known the 800 torque was coming out before I bought mine. I love it anyway. Good luck.
