Texas Heat!

Now I've heard of folks in the frozen north getting cabin fever during the Winter, but I've been fighting a case of it because of the heat. And if that wasn't bad enough, Monday my wife came down with a Summer cold and by Monday night, I had it, too. Hers got bad enough that she went to the doctor yesterday; sinus infection and chest congestion. So far mine is just sneezing and runny nose. I've had to sleep half sitting up in my recliner most of the last 2 nights. And I'm ready to give up on the yard. If the grass all dies, I'll till it and buy new seed.

Bird,
Here's a little something to think about during your cabin fever. Remember the discussion about Nettles a couple weeks ago.

I was cleaning up around the garden and spotted these bright orange blooms at the edge of the woods. I brought a piece in to identify it, and wow a home remedy for nettle burn, poison ivy, bug bites and all kinds of nasty things growing wild at the edge of my woods. It even grows down your way.
Hope your feeling better soon.
Ron

106* right now, small chance of rain Sunday ,20%.

New fire burning just North of me towards lake Bridgeport, they also had it on channel 5 news, not near as big as the one in Palo Pinto, but some homes already burned.

I heard between Paradise and Boyd on the radio. Is that the same fire?

BTW: There's been a haze in the air and smokey smell all day here.

Get a sleep number bed. The head and foot both incline. When I get a chest cold, I incline the head. When I broke my ankle, raising the foot really helped.

Yeah Jim, but actually closer to Cottondale, which is 3-5 miles S. of Paradise. I know the evacuated Cottondale today about 4:30pm

So far I have only heard of 2 homes burned, but according to the news at 10pm, still not contained.

Fires actually made national news today...Palo Pinto county has had an extra rough summer.

Going to a football game in Boyd Friday night. Hope we don't get smoked out.

Cabin Fever-----Got it!

Hope you get to feeling better. I hate a summer cold most of all. They're the worst kind.

:confused:We've had our Select Comfort Sleep Number bed for about 9 years; best bed I ever slept on because we can change the firmness at will, but . . . incline??? Never heard of that for a Sleep Number bed.

Well, I went to their website and see they have those beds now, but did not when we bought ours. If those had been available back then, I'd probably have bought one, but don't want to spend the money for one now.

Have you ever eaten at GoGo Gumbo in Boyd? If you haven't, you should give it a try sometime. Try their "TV Dinner."

Other than shrimp and fried catfish I'm not much on seafood. Well I guess catfish is not really sea food. Might have to check it out however if I get to Boyd in time.
