I had a neighbor riding his atv and dirt bike on my property. When I confronted him, his reply was "I'm not hurting anything." He stopped when I rode MY atv in his yard.

You could post a Rattle Snake Santuary sign and scatter motion activated audio players with the rattle sound on them all over the place. Just saw an ad for a very cheap unit from china. $0.02 per unit minimum 5000 units FOB. For just a hundred bucks plus shipping you could have a few thousand rattlesnakes guaranteed not to actually kill anyone.
That's an unique solution. I, especially, enjoyed the part in regards to CHINA. Happy Tractoring.

We had the same issues on property we own in PA. Locals created a huge dumping site and destroyed any and all gates we installed. We had it posted very thoroughly and it made no difference.

Finally, we installed spike strips all over the place. We made sure to tell the local Leo's about the strips. We even showed them one of the units we bought.

After several trucks and ATV's got four flat tires, the trespassing stopped. We asked the local Leo's if they had any complaints from people about damaged tires and they hadn't heard anything. It took us 3 years to get it under control but now we seem to have no issues.

I piled a number of trees on an opening in our property where ATV's and ski-doos were coming through. Initially I just moved a few by hand and posted a sign, they knocked these over. So I brought my tractor along and hauled a number trees across the opening and they haven't been back since.

We also were having problems with the atv's accessing the property using the railroad tracks. I salted along the tracks with these below...and the problems soon stopped. I retrieved my units and have them saved for the future.

Cheaper than you think...I bought 15 boxes of them.

Although I have an atv myself and use it a lot...I am not following the rules of proper atv ownership. Rule 1...Own less than an acre of land so you are forced to ride all over someone else's land. Rule 2...Think of only yourself while blasting around and tearing up the other's land. Rule 3...Litter belongs where you drop it. Try to throw your beer cans into the bushes instead of dropping them on the road. Rule 4...Assume you have a right to ride where ever you want.

About 20 years ago the phone company replaced an underground copper cable with a fiber optic one. This was on a private right of way, about 30 ft wide that is about 400 ft from our property. The right of way crosses our private road in two locations close to us. As they had heavy equipment in at that time they cleared all the brush for the right of way. Next thing you know the ATV's, dirt bikes, and trucks thought it was their private playground. They would chew up the private road real bad, I had to maintain it so it really cheesed me off. Still living in Victoria at the time but contacted both the phone company and the US timber land company that owned the 200 acre parcel this road and right of way went through. Expressed my concern about these people going through fish (salmon spawning) creeks on the property. They came out and blocked it off with large rocks. Had to have them come back a couple of times over the years to add rocks/stumps and repile as these guys made paths around them. Now, knock of wood, no traffic from these guys in several years on the right of way.
I like to think of myself as pleasantly persistent.

We have the same problem in Washington. I have used cable, trees, fence. The only thing I have not used is lead, but I do have access to a backhoe!

Barbed wire fence & some cows. I don't think many will bust in to a fence & let your cows to escape ... Not that I've ever heard of anyway. If any of you have, post that story!

This should get you an ag tax exemption, too.
I'll post that story.

About 12 years ago I was sitting at my desk, in my house, and heard this 'thunderous noise' and the walls literally shook.

I yelled to my wife and said..........is that an earthquake, or what.

She said...........No, theres huge horses in our yard.

Sure enough, 10 of those huge work horses were in my yard. I made a few calls and found out who they belonged to.

He later told me that guys on 4 wheelers cut the fence, that he put across 'their' trail, and the horses got out.

You forgot # 5: take the mufflers off so you can be heard for miles.
