Scott,

I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on a DK40se HST myself. Did you ever get an answer from the dealer on the price regarding the $4500 rebate Kioti is offering, or do the prices you quoted already includ this rebate? Once I get a price from my dealer, I'll be posting it here to let you know how our dealers are comparing.

Thanks,
Mike

I didn't get an answer from him on that, but didn't pursue to hard either. I was waiting to close on the land (where I'm putting the tractor) and we go finish the paperwork tomorrow. Following that, I'm starting to build my house...

I think I may rent a tractor for a day or two this fall, then rent another one in the winter/spring to help me decide what I want. There's a lot that looks good on paper, but I am a neophite when it comes to tractors. I'm guessing a couple hours in a seat on my own land will tell me a lot about what I do/don't want.

Go with the Kubota stay away from the Kioti I own both and the kioti is nothing but trouble. The Kubota is the best money spent even if is more money.

You may have had a bad experience but that is not generalizable. Looking at the Kioti and Kubota forums they both seem to be excellent tractors and each has its share of problems. I don't believe there are many unhappy Kioti owners though all agree that the Kubota dealership network is superior (and that Kioti's cost $4000-6000 less for the same hp tractor so that is the tradeoff).

coobie,
The whole point of forums is to get many different opinions and views and then use ALL that information to make an informed decision. I for one welcome mojoo77's opinion, even though I disagree. These type of comments discourage people from sharing their experiences, the experiences that make these forums useful and fun.

mojoo77, it would be helpful to give a few more details, what type of trouble have you had with your Kioti, what model tractors do you own?

As for me, I love my CK30 HST TBL, but I've had more than my share of troubles. This is why buying a dealer is as important as buying a brand sometimes. See my thread for the issues I've been having here: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kioti-owning-operating/218090-my-new-ck-30-a.html

My CK 30 is a much more capable machine than the JD 955 I left behind, and from everything I saw, a much more capable machine than any other in my price range, including Kubota. I approached it a little differently, I looked at the amount of money I was willing to spend and then compared the tractors that fit into that range. If you do that, you'll see you're comparing Kioti models to Kubota models that are just not equal, the Kubota will be a much lighter machine with less hydraulic power, less features etc. Instead of looking at Kioti being 4-6K less than Kubota, look at what you get (for all manufactures) dollar for dollar, the choice becomes much easier.

I think Coobie was responding partly because there were no details or follow up from the "troll" poster. The guy may have a legitimate gripe and bad experience but in that case he should bother to let us know the details rather than just rag on the brand. I am sure there are people who have had bad experiences with every brand of tractor and those experiences are useful when outlined in detail. Opinions are not so helpful when you just say "Yankees suck" (which happens to be true but as the Red Sox just blew a game yesterday too I will not elaborate just now:eek:).

IslandTractor,
I agree that it's not helpful to simply bash something with no details, when I see that type of post, I usually discount it completely. I simply think it is more productive and respectful to request more info as opposed to name calling.
