The dust has pretty much settled and the results are below. Keep in mind, I spend a lot of time in China, have visited the Jinma factory, and know how to import.
First..we should all give plenty of credit to the dealers who import and handle all the bumps in the road, finance the cash, hold the inventory, send all the emails, cover the risk, assemble the product, find the missing parts, make things fit, etc. Retail consumers don't realize all that is done in the background.
Having said that, I imported two 8" chippers and one HW04X frame mounted backhoe, swivel seat, along with extra hoses, teeth, starter, alternator, etc. I purchased directly from Jinma.
The pricing was great and more than compensated for the headaches. Some parts were damaged from faulty packaging, some parts were missing, and some parts were simply the wrong part. The BH subframe didn't fit and required rework. I plan to start another thread on that in addition to my thread on
http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/chinese-tractors/223303-hw04x-bh-hose-connection-problem.html regarding hose problems.
Jinma replaced all parts damaged by shipping as well as some parts with substandard paint. They also immediately acknowledged an internal problem with the wrong backhoe pump and wrong hose sent to me and a few others. All have been replaced quickly at their expense. They were responsive and did a good job for me.
I would do it again.
