I would use any kind of petroleum oil lubricant. It's exposed to the engine oil under the valve cover, so it should get lube just because of the environment, except maybe at the seals. That doesn't mean it hasn't sat unused for too long and seized or frozen up, though.

Hopefully you'll pull the calve cover off and discover that it's just gotten tight from sitting unused, and you can disassemble and clean things up, and it will be in good shape. Take pictures of what it looks like, so we can see how it works and what fixes it.

The little decompression shafts that go through the valve cover have o-rings on them. Wouldn't doubt them just being dried out and clinging hard.

Throttle cables will rust up I and not sure if I have missed exactly what has been disconnected and checked so if I missed that part sorry but wound cable shields will let water in (spray oil also )

Winston was right, it was just tight from sitting, i didn't have to remove the valve cover, there are 2 small caps on top of it that are held in place by two #7 screw, remove those and you can see the decompression rode that runs through the valve cover, lubed all the the parts that touch the valve cover and after working it back and forth with a rubber mallet it eventually freed up, worked with it about 15 minutes. So all is good now, haven't found anymore issues yet.

you know I tried that on my lights with no luck..lol figured if I beat the hood enough they would start to work..

I read somewhere on this forum in the past (I think by LMTC) that there are things to look for to get an idea of the hours on a tractor with a three digit tac. This 2210 has 242hr on the tac, it is still working but my guess is it has flipped over at least once, what are the things to look for to guesstimate the amount of hours? I'm hoping its 1242 and not 6242..it has the 3 digit meter that flips over after 999.9...

Ahhhhh... Guess you'll never know then..... Glad my 336D has a 4 digit meter. Mine is at 3191.8,........ Hope it hasn't flipped (holy cow!)

To answer your question on what lube you can use. You can pretty much use anything. I prefer PB blaster or Liquid wrench to WD as WD dries out fast. You can also use transmission fluid which is the best penetrating oil as well as all purpose lube i have found. That stuff frees about anything up that has seized!

Can use deisel as well but i doubt you have that in an oil can?

Well all fluids have been changed except the hyd/trans, since I have never changed the hydro/trans fluid on a tractor with a FEL thought I would see if there was anything different that needs to be done to change it? or is it just like changing one without a FEL? will the loader need to be bled? etc..on my ym2001 it was as simple as draining then refilling.
