Let me add..

with all the talk of 'seasick' - you know if you motionsickness or not - so if you normally dont get motion sickness and then get ill on a ship you probably arent seasick.

Its probably the noro-virus (SP) or some other virus because ppl wont wash their hands and touch everything that everyone else touches..

And im sure the sickness has nothing to do with the 1/5 of vodka that they chugged with dinner hehe

I'd be glad to go if they paid me enough, but no way I'd pay them to go. But I think I can understand others enjoying it; just not my cup of tea. I'd much rather go fishing in a 16' boat.;) Got no use for boats if I can't try to catch fish.:)[/QUOTE]

And I am wondering just where U would go to catch that small (fry) pun intened

Yeah, I really like to pick my nose and wipe what comes out on the rails. It's easiest to do it in the elevator and not get caught. ;)

Obviously I'm kidding. Unfortunately, for many kids, that is what they do. I have really enjoyed the cruises I've taken on Seabourn cruise lines and the cruises where we have had the two floor suites on Norwegian and Princess cruises. Obviously those cost more, but of all the cruises I've been on, I've only had to pay for 1 of them. It's not so bad that way. ;)

Now we know why you keep trying Harbor Freight even though you dislike them so much. It's so you can save enough for a suite. :D :D

Thanks everyone for your comments. We were looking over the options again this morning and it looks like it's a go. She needs to put in her vacation days and get them aproved, and once that's done, we'll book the trip. Right now, it looks like early November that she is going to ask for.

Congrats on deciding to book the cruise.. I hope you enjoy it..

When we took our first cruise we were thinking, OK let try this- we can tough out a 3 night cruise it we have to..

None the less - as soon as we go back home we started looking for our next cruise..

Went on my first cruise this year as well and like you, didn't know what to make of it beforehand. This was an Alaskan cruise. I got used to the lally gagging around and broke into a relaxed mode. If I had to say what kept my sanity was going off the boat. I bought a whoppin 35 mm camera with an array of lenses so I could keep busy. Got a shot of a grizzly 1/4 mile away that looked like you could walk up and touch him. I did not eat anything I could say I didn't like including venison they served. Everyone is super accommodating. I got sick one day as I got into some bad salmon but that was it. As my wife was motion sick the entire trip, we are not going cruising again. On the last day, I found out about the onboard acupuncturist who makes the claim that of all medications and patches, acupuncture is the most effective of mitigating motion sickness.
If I could not get off the boat, I would not go on another one, but hey, I had to experience it for myself.

I'm thinking of doing my first cruise next year. The closest I've come to a cruise was taking the Alaska Ferry down the coast, that was a lot of fun at a much lower cost than a cruise ship.
