Thank you, I just finished removing the FEL from my New Holland TC40 and preparing to through bolt it on the left side FEL docking mount. So far, everything has worked out design and placement wise, should have finish mounted photos up in the next few days.

With the FEL detached I had several close quarter field jobs to do around here today before re-attaching the FEL and photographing the final scabbard mount photos with shotgun and shells in place but we were hit by a large (for our area this time of year) rain and hail storm for most of the day. I will try to finish up tomorrow but do have some permanently mounted scabbard bracket photos taken yesterday in the shop.

First photo shows the inside of the FEL dock and the four (yellow arrows) 5/16" grade eight hex bolts. There is plenty of room for the hex heads and the FEL vertical arms once again attached to co-exist within the same space. Note the two orange circled holes. These were pre-drilled by NH and covered over on the outside with a full length sticky DANGER/WARNING label, I did not know they existed until pulling the FEL. Due to the proximity of theirs and mine, I decided not to drill another hole and use their hidden hole with a washer.

Second photo shows the four through bolts and the four 5/16" white nylon spacers separating the 3/8" thick FEL dock from the 3/8" thick scabbard backbone. In this instance I didn't want the possibility of water/rust entrapment.

Third photo shows a view from the operator's platform. The shotgun's pistol grip will be positioned inward.

Fourth photo shows the clutch pedal in relation to the scabbard mount. Closests clearance is 1-7/8" and quite acceptable even for my size 13 shoe. Absolutely no touchee.

The last photo I put a white towel in the background to better show the profile. Not the backbone's angle at the bottom of the scabbard mount. I did this for several reasons:

The last/bottom scabbard bracket is narrower in width than the upper three brackets because it only has to house the shotgun's barrel tip.

In designing the scabbard bracket and with that barrel tip width in mind, by making that last bracket narrower than the other three allowed for extra clearance for the clutch foot pedal.

Something else-this is a good time to grease the docking points (no zirks) as they were all absolutely bone dry except the lower right side stationary docking tube.
I'll post the final scabbard mount photos soon.

Niockle plate, ya know i did not mean anything about the barrel to be illegal..i made sure mine was 18 inches since I read of them being highly critical about it? You live where the laws are more rigid. I'm sure you have many more Subjects there illegally than we do, but the dopers are everywhere now a days..Hence personal protection is way up around here..You seem to have integrated the carrier very well.

When I first read the title of the thread, I wondered about the shotgun being "short barrelled", which it's not (as shown in nickle plate's attached picture). It's just a pistol grip shotgun, nothing special or requiring any BATF approvals. If you buy a Mossberg Persuader (I think they call it a "Cruiser" now), you get a pistol grip included (but not mounted to the shotgun).
I don't know CA gun laws, but I'd assume pistol gripped shotguns are legal there too.

Roy, that is a good point. You usually get that grip in a bag. Only place you see the grip on a piece{Cruiser} is in the gun-shop. BTW , we have had 3 shops close up and move on here?

Assuming the shotgun came from the factory with a pistol grip, had it been less than 18" it would not have been a short barrel shotgun. To be considered a shotgun, ie short barrel, it must have come from the factory with a buttstock. Under the assumption that it didn't come with a buttstock, and it came with less than an 18" barrel, it would come under the heading of an AOW (any other weapon) and the BATF permit to own one, when you can get an LEO signature, is only $5. If it came with a buttstock from the factory and shortened to less than 18", it would be a short barrel shotgun.
I have an Ithica model 37 "Stakeout" that came as a pistol grip pump shotgun with a 12" barrel and permit was $5, but I cannot put a buttstock on it without being in violation of the law. (I would have to pay the $200 permit required for a SBS, not the AOW permit cost).

For the unknowning few, Shotguns with under 18 inch barrels are still legal, they just require additional permiting. Some areas ban the pemited ones, but that is another story.
