Rear Blade What size to get?

On a box blade, I want one as wide or wider than my rear tires. I put a 7' on my L5030 as that is about the width of the roads on the property were I live, on another farm, we use a 10' drag scraper as the roads are wider.

We also have a couple of back blades, but rarely use them.

Not sure if my CK35 would pull a 10 footer. I don't have enough experience to know what the tractor can handle.

Probably not, we use a Massey Ferguson 375 MFWD 72 HP or M8540 on the drag scraper, my L5030 would just sit and spin once it got loaded up. The 7' is about all I would try with the L5030.

Two thoughts:

1. I regrade crushed gravel and maintain our 800' drive using a 7' landscape rake. Get tires on a landscape rake - otherwise, you can't effectivly control raking effort.

2. I plow snow using a 7' rear blade. (considering a rear pull snowblower though). The tires on our Kubota L4310 are set about 5'-6" out-out - the 7' blade covers the track about rightwhen angled.

If you get a rear blade, make sure it has reinforcement behind the blade to prevent crimping.

Ours is made by Tufline. If it gets caught on something ridgid, it'll turn the tractor on snow.
