I have a 55 gal drum to fill with concrete and add a few goodies like a receiver hitch,Chainsaw scabbard, places for chains and gas and oil. I will also put in some pipe for hand tools. Do you guys think that is enough weight for a 3240? I'll probably fill all but 4 or 5 inches of the barrel. Any other ideas?
Jeff
IMO yes it's enough weight, Maybe to much, how many HP is a 3240?
I would think 1/2 or 3/4 of the drum would be enough.
Foggy, I like how you mounted the frame on the backside of the QA plate so it doesn't stick out so far. Let us know how it works out on the tractor if you could.
Jeff
You could make yours just like Foggy's with out much difficulty.
I agree, the geometry of that design is better. Then you could make it rigid, or use the chain like he did. I was gonna say by making it rigid you have the advantage of down pressure. But with his design, even with the chain you would have down pressure. So it's the best of both worlds, down pressure when you need it and a chain for float, for the majority of your plowing.
Another benefit is his can not fold back like yours can. if you push to hard on a snow bank your plow will start to ride up and without any type of stop could come way up out of any useful position and possibly hit the loader depending on the position of the plate.
