Well I find this interesting. So many people re-reading a book. I've tried it on several occasions but I give it up because I know what's coming. The adventure of reading a book, to me, is the discovery, the timely exposure to the development of the subject. If I already know how it's going to unfold that magic is gone.
However, I appear to be in a small minority here. ...Like one. This is rather disturbing. hmmm...am I that odd??

Oh come on, there has to be others who don't re-read.

I just cant pull the trigger on an ereader. I love my books, especially when the power is out. They require no batterys. Holding a book is part of the experience. I would think it almost an injustice to put my collection of foxfire books on a computer.

My wife uses hers everywhere. she has a waterproof sleeve for it; she takes in in the spa every morning. At least on our Kindle's the batteries last a long time(20+ hours)

AND, to me, one of the pleasures of passing along a favorite book to another person is: "If you enjoy this, pass it along, I don't want it returned".

NOW, TRY THAT WITH A KINDLE !!!!!!!

Yes, I do not know how that would be done. I know my wife, son, and I have our electronic library. But I do not know how to share a book with you.

I am in no way being critical of your chosen method of reading and I hope you understand that, now....time to log off TBN, shut down my laptop, turn off my Blackberry...

AND GO READ....

I held out as long as I could. My inlaws gave me a kindle last Christmas. I didn't touch it for 6 months. Then I was heading on a trip and was out of fresh material. Well the wife suggested I try it. She loaded 3 books on it. I really like it. But I do miss turning a page, and folding them for bookmarks;-). Man that pisses some people off

No, didn't mean it that way. I think it can be done. I just don't know how... If you had a Kindle or other E-reader, I don't know how we could share books we paid for, like we could a paper book. Or, how to sell a used E-book.

RobertN, You are not supposed to share or sell on an ebook. They are specifically priced way, way below what it would cost to buy the same book in print form. If you pass them on to other people you are in breach of copyright laws in most countries, and robbing the author of his or her just rewards for having spent the time (in my case spread over 60 years) in producing the book.

Now that has probably lost me a few sales, but hopefully helped some other people.

OP here, thank you for the clarifications you just provided.
