Looks like a great setup you got there. I looked into something like that as well but couldn't justify the cost at this time. Watchhing your video really makes me want a cab as I know I'll be getting blasted this winter without one.

We got hit with rain last night and rain and 41F all day today. All my presious snow is turning to crap.

I spent 2 hours plowing the 2-1/2 miles of association roads of the 4" of slop on the roads that was hindering traffic. That plow is amazing. I was able to move 2.5 miles x 21' minimum width x 4" +/- of wet snow in high range in 2 hours 5 minutes. I am so impressed with this equipment. It rained the entire time, so the cab and heat was so worth the additional cost.

I tried the blower on the wet slop but it clogged the chute pretty fast.

However, one side of my carriage barn and my shop shed off the 10" of snow on the roof, and the blower moved this pile slick as can be. It needs the volume flowing into the impellers. The 4" of wet junk on the ground just didnt feed fast enough.

When my other buildings shed ill try to get some video of the blower clearing the 3' deep piles. I worked in low range and it blew it like no ones business (as my dad used to say). This is why i bought a loader mounted unit instead of jest the frame mounted unit. Again. way happy.

i dont remember if i posted any pics of my snow blade..oh well i do so again. I went out and took a couple of pics afte i used it.....the poor thing looks so cold.

The plates on both side are swinging side gates to keep snow from falling over the side, or for changing blade into a snow pusher.

Ok. Details! What brand of plow is that? How are the end plates operated? It looks like they are manual and pinned in place.

it is a "Quick Attach" brand plow. The end plates are manual. There hinged to stay on the plow and you swing and pin them in place as needed. I have them set to plow the roads in such a way as they only get set 1 time.

I start the plow to the right of center on the first pass and slope so the snow folds to my right side. On the return pass the snow folds to my right side also, but on the other side of the road. I do the same on the next 2 passes. I work from center out so i dont have to reset the gates at all. the great thing is i get no snow ridges left on the road when im done.

Heres a link to site
Snow and Light Material Blade : Quick Attach Attachments, Inc.

theres a pdf link there that shows more detail of it.

it takes about 2 minutes is all. They are both quick hitch units, and the plow plugs into my 3rd function valves installed by the dealer (though there actually just a set of hoses piped to my rear remotes). The blower plugs into the hydraulic lines that i piped over for winter use from the power pack and an electrical plug for hydraulic controls.

It takes me about 2-3 hours to install the powerpack and route hoses before the winter, then only seconds to attach or disconnect. Come spring ill remove the hoses and powerpack.

the 500# plus powerpack ads nice counterbalance to the blade also.

I notice you said something about running all the time is why it worked well, why didn't your old blower run all the time? I have a 32x64" roof that unloads onto a driveway that I clean, I have to take bites with the blower at different heights. I only turn around for the final scrape with the loader.

On my old tractor/blower, i had a rear facing pto blower with a 2 stage clutch. The problem was every so often i ended up pushing the clutch in a little too far and it would stop the blower for a second..thats all it took to get a clog in the blower. Then i had to scrape out everything and start again. It was such a fine line between 1st & 2nd stage on the clutch that i did this alot while blowing snow.

The new blower runs 100% of time that pto is running, and the pto isnt connected to the HST unit at all.
