Oh, didn't even think to do that! Guess you have to get the eHydro with the cab:confused3:

I have no idea what that thing could be doesn't look like an inter cooler or ac unit i've ever seen before!

It looks pretty much like the intercooler I have on my VW TDI.

I bet it does. I looked at is again, one line goes to the engine block and the other one goes to the intake from what I can tell.

My 2009 4520 cab has the intercooler in your picture too. These are on the 4520 and 4720 machines.

To clarify I understand all 4720 tractors are ehydro only, the others 4120, 4320 and 4520 can have either PR or ehydro in open station. All cab tractors in this series are ehydro only.

Lots of guys on the forums assume the only difference between the tractors is turning up the fuel for more hp. There is more to it than that, the coolers are an example of this.

Thanks, that is great to know about the coolers on certain machines. Another difference I like about the larger models is the E-Throttle. We use that application quite a bit especially when we are doing loader work.

I would easily say it's worth the jump going from the 4320 to the 4520 since its a quite a difference in horsepower.

I use the E throttle and E pto on mine I was thinking along the lines of a 4720 but by the time I actually made the purchase the newer 4520 was about the same as the prior 4720.

The only thing I wish we added to the purchase of this tractor was the e-pto option. It was easily missed when going over the build codes on it. I found in certain conditions while mowing that this feature would come in handy. Anyone else find the e-pto worthwhile, or are we good with the standard?

When I took delivery of my 4520 almost 3 years ago, the e-PTO lever was set to the "economy" mode. I never moved it from there since. I run a 6' brush hog in some pretty heavy stuff sometimes and the e-PTO seems to do OK. Yeah, it has bogged on occasion, but not enough to make me move the knob. This is definitely something I would recommend for those doing a lot of mowing and running other lower-HP PTO implements. Especially if you don't have a cab and want to keep the RPMs and noise lower.
