Much easier. This is funny, but sad.
I've asked for days for ANYONE to come up with ANY study or universally recognized site that advocates spraying diesel fuel on some metal for protection and not one single Lemming can do so. Each one of you would fail the class and be banned from using anything more powerful than an old non powered push mower.
If its like my area where you are, it's wet outside. If it is wet out, go dribble a few drops of diesel on some wet metal and tell me what it does. You know what it will do; it will float on top of the wet metal and be washed off as soon as more moisture is present. Again, DON'T BELIEVE ME, go try it. Now tell me what good that did besides waste diesel.
Heck, someone grow a pair and send this thread to MythBusters. If they do the gig I will remain completely anonymous if you all are wrong. If I'm wrong, here is my word; you can use me, I'll fly out at my expense, and I can be proven wrong on national TV. Deal?
Just stop and think about it. The ONLY reason I'm pushing this, besides I know I'm right, is so you guys can better protect the equipment you paid your hard earned money for or to preserve something of value you inherited. Why else would I care?? Lord knows it really upsets a few here when I admit that I do not leave anything outside. However, it has been my sick passion to restore 60's era muscle cars. You all know what we fight trying to preserve our little piece of history; rust!
You guys are ticked as all heck about the matter. If you haven't noticed, I'm not in the least. If you all get ticked at me but do a little honest research and find you can greatly improve how your 'stuff' for what amounts to basically no more money, then I'm happy. I've never said "I told you so" in my adult life. You think it really matters to me trying to be in a popularity contest here? Seriously, nobody should miss that one. Sounds stupid, but I really hate seeing really good old stuff rot away when it doesn't need to. Heck, I have a 40's model 2 bottom Ferguson plow I don't need and can't use anymore and it's never sat outside. I just keep dragging my feet putting it on fleabay 'cause I can't replace it. Shh, my wife thinks its gone. She can't see on top of a 15' tall pallet rack.
So, prove me wrong. Telling me what great-grandpa means nothing to me. Dang, now it sounds like I care about your equipment.
Um, prove me wrong jerks. There, sound better?
