Kubota BX24 Injector pump problem

Didn't realize there was that big of a difference in microns. Hummm! Where is there room on a BX to put a Racor filter? Has anyone put one on their BX?

That is the problem. If you don't mind running fuel line around it can be done.
I have mounted the Racor 120 series on several lawn mowers but have yet to find a good spot on any of my tractors. The 120 is the smallest racor available and you can get filters anywhere from 2-30 micron.

Good morning Yooper Jim,

One of the loyal members put their RACOR unit in front in the brush/front guard with front end loader mounted.

Another member mounted one on the right side of thier BX and another mounted his on the left side if I remember right.

Hi,
I recently experienced some problem with my BX24. Engine shutdown and wouldn't start again.
Check fuel pump, filters etc... Fuel was coming to the injector pump but nothing out of it..
Removed the injector pump, for inspection, cleaned the banjo bolt and all injector lines. Re install injector pump and engine started.
It ran fine until today. Same thing happened. The engine just quit...

This time I have fuel squirting out of the injector pump, bled the injector line (fuel dripping) but still no start. Not even white or black some coming out of the exhaust. Looks like no fuel is getting in chamber.

Question:

Is it possible to have fuel squirting out of injector pump but not have enough pressure to start engine ?

I am at a complete loss here... I am wondering if the injector pump isn't too weak...

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Frederic

it seems this has happened to you twice now. if it was running fine up to that point and then problems and then you had it running fine again then quit ...I WOULD NOT BE THINKING IT IS THE FUEL PUMP, injectors lines or filters.

sounds like an engine protection switch is shutting you down (I would be looking for an electrical problem from what you have posted).

Except the logistics of installing a Racor on these little tractors it is a good idea. The micron rating the Kubota filter is 30. Kinda coarse. The racors go down to 2 micron which maybe slight over kill but 10 is a minimum.

That is good to know. however do you have a source of info to confirm that kubota uses 30 microns? why do we need 10 at minimum?

Just throwing this out there. Could there be something blocking flow in the tank ??

Update:

No fuel in oil.

Both filters have been replaced,
Fuel pump output is good.
Shut down solenoid working fine.

I have fuel to injector line when I crank so I think that there is no problem with fuel getting to injector pump.
Seems like the pressure coming from injector pump is too weak to pressurize the injectors...

I'll post some pictures and video later.

Hate to but looks like it's going to go to Kubota for trouble shooting...

injector pumps don't work fine for a spell then go weak ...and then go strong again. it would be a surprisingly rare and unlikely event.

your mucking with the fuel system could mask other issues.

I would still be looking for an electrical issue.

no fuel coming from injector pump ...that is how the safety switches shutdown the engine. They shut off the fuel. Did you check the electrical to see if the fuel solenoid was working ....when it happened ?

if it is an intermittent problem then it is difficult to identify unless you have a consistence working or not working scenario. The pump itself is the last thing I would be expecting given what you have posted.

Max,

if I have fuel going to the injector while cranking, what king of electric problem would prevent the engine from firing?

Thanks
