You can also try this site.... Wolverine Engine Heaters

they sell, and i have purchased 3 of them, a glue on heater. they are super easy to install and dont have to drain anything.

And boy do they work great
I put on a 125 watt heater on the oil pan (needs a flat spot, no ridges), a 250 watt heater on the transmission/HST unit and another 250 watt heater on my 3 point reat hydraulic tank that supplies the snow blower.

I set mine to operate on a wall timer for a few hours before i need the tractor, and only use them if the temp is below 20F.

Without them everything growls and protests starting up (like i do climbing out of my warm bed) , but with them everything starts nice and smoothly....major difference.

Thanks for the website. Maybe I will change my plans and get one of these for the oil pan and transmission. These look like the perfect product for me.

I personally didnt want to break into the freeze plugs or heater hose so i thought this was the least invasive approach to the issue.

I have a similar heater on my internet dish for 5 years...works great.

Yes, they are just sheet metal stamped in a cup shape and pressed into the recesses. I usually drive a screwdriver through the center and then pry them out for removal.

I put the 125 watt on my oil pan... took like 30 seconds to attach and 30 seconds to silicon the edge. Read the instructions though. when i pre-heated mine, i went for 10 seconds instead of the 3 sec that they recommend...nearly burnt my hand. That thing sure gets hot.

It was 18F this morning, and the preheater had been on for 2 hours about 1 hour PRIOR to my starting tractor..... the engine just purred....no grunting at all like it does when i tried to start it in 30F weather without the heater.

Well I have had the new heater hooked up about 2 weeks now. It used to really struggle at about 30 degrees. The coldest it hass been so far is about 20 degrees and with it plugged in for about 4 hours the tractor started right up no problems at all. It only took me about 5 minutes to install and I have it plugged in to a remote controlled plug so my wife can just push a button to turn it on while Im at work and Im good to go when I get home. So far so good, great product.

I live in frederick md, tractor is hard to start..read your forum and see that u have a similar tractor as I do (i have the SC2400) ...did u get the heater for your freeze plug? Called the dealer and they can get it for $50. who is it made by? how easy to put on? u said 5min. Dealer said it would cost $90 to put on but for 5 min I'll do it myself.

I got a "wolverine heater" it glues to the bottom of the oil pan. It worked good for 2 years on my sc2400. Now I have a sx3100 and got the same type of heater and it works good. They need to run longer than a freeze plug heater but are much simpler to install. I had one quit working on my current tractor and called them up and they sent me a new one out no questions asked.

Anyone have a link for the freeze plug heater for the sc2400?
My dealer no longer sells Yanmar, and the newer dealer isn't very helpful.
