The Leningrad Cowboys do lots of old rock classics. Aside from their silly stage antics and costumes, they're actually pretty legit musicians. They have many videos on YouTube. I click on one every now and then when I need something silly and lighthearted for a pick-me-up.

The choir is Russian, but the Leningrad Cowboys are from Finland.

The quality of music of all types is very high in former USSR countries. You should hear their jazz bands. I don't know how much truly original music is being composed there but the performers are top notch.
