Judge...

Manufactured in Brazil and clunky looking.

Well, your opinion...

Those Judges are pretty darn popular handgns so I guess there's quite a few folks who like them.
And Taurus, as a brand, is also quite popular. I guess I've had 8 or 9 over the years and still own 3.

I have never shot a Judge and never will, but a lot of people like them. Gun Tests evaluated them on more than one occasion and does not consider them to be a "manstopper" beyond ten feet with the .410 as the pattern opens so quickly. They rated it good for close in pest control. S&W now makes a similar gun.

Over penetration should always be a consideration, but so should under penetration.

My Dad's was a Mossberg, had a two round detachable magazine. And, it had an adjustable choke. He got it when he was 12 back in '53. It swings and shoots really nice. The follow up shot is a little slow though, having to work that long throw bolt.

I do not see a current bolt action in the Mossberg website; I thought they had one as a turkey gun until recently.

just remembered my dad has a 12 gauge bolt action shotgun, cant remember the make as i havent seen that gun in many years i do remember it has an adjustable choke and i think it had a three shot clip..thanks for talking about the old bolt action shotguns, i'll have to make a trip to dad's place and take a look at it again

i love my t85 revolver.

I own a circuit judge it's got the 3" cyl. VERY nice gun.. monte carlo wood stock.. no recoil with 45 or 410.. all in all a nice combination gun.. would be something I might take camping os as a survival gun if I didn't have a 22/20 OU hanging around.

Had a son-in-law with a restraining order . .never owned a gun before.
Bought a Remington 870 12 ga, Police magnum 18" with folding stock.
Acquired a Ruger SP 357 stainless afterward . ..my sister wanted me to have it. The Taurus Judge magnum . . .is still . .. "my choice".

#1 . .Hit what you are aiming at . . more 50 caliber machine gun rounds have
been wasted in the last 50 years . ..than you could count . . .$7.00 a
round . . minimal . . Kill rate per round . .. . very low.

Talk is cheap . .until you look down the barrel of his sub-machine gun.

Been there . .done that . .still walking . .. after clean laundry . .

Don't know where you buy your pre loads at but Barrett branded 50 cal Browning Machine Gun rounds are $120.00 for 20. Same price as my .338 Lapua with Scenar bullets in 230 grain FMJBT.

It is interesting how that evolved. I have read some books about US Marine and Army snipers. Two of the books listed out shot counts. I can't find Hathcocks book right now; I think it had a more complete list going back to the US Revolution. It list out how there were two or three shots per casualty in the Revolution, then more in the war of 1812, more in the Civil war, especially as Gatling and Hotchkis guns came on line.

"Inside the Crosshairs; Snipers in Vietnam" by Micheal Lanning, lists WWII as 25,00 rounds per kill, Korea was 50,000. Vietnam was up to 200,000 with all the automatic weaponry used.

Marine and Army sniper, 1.3-1.7 rounds per kill.

GnySgt Hathcock held the record for a long time; 2250 yards using a 50 caL machine gun. Special mount was made so he could use his 10x Unertl scope on it...

when it takes ya half a minute to prep and load a charge and round then fire, then you are voulnerable for another 30 seconds reloading.. you make your shots count. remember those old boys hunted for food. you missed you food shot and scared them away.

add in autoloading guns and you can pull the triggeralot more times and not be as picky with shots onthe run.. :)
