No, I am still on it, but it's the slow tedious stuff....not worthy of TBN photo space:( For example, I have all the french doors up, but not "right". I spent 4 hours yesterday getting two of them shimmed up & permanently screwed in. One of them I completly re-did 5 times. I am not a perfectionist, but the thing was either opening perfect and crooked in the frame(by a quarter of an inch), or it was straight in the frame and would not open worth a hoot. After trying different methods & places of shims somehow, accidentally on purpose I got it "right". I even READ THE INSTRUCTIONS...twice...I swear:laughing: And no they were of zero help. One more to go....so today I will throw some salt over my left shoulder while facing East while clutching a chicken foot(the chicken won't appreciate this) while chanting in a swamp voodoo island voice, "Dees franch door will succumb to my ahvery coomand!"

..........yes the lack of sunlight in the winter makes me loop-ey....er....:D

Sounds like you are a `happy` soul :) Sometimes when a person is posting regularly, and working up off the ground, and the doesn`t post for a while, it makes me worry...I think (in your case) maybe you stepped back to admire the large door opening above the garage.....Keep up the good work Tony

I have neglected the farm for almost 6 months while working on the house. I am way behind in firewood, fencing needed attention, maintenance on veh's, etcetc. Having the house in the dry allows me to get caught up...kinda...if that is really possible:laughing:

Yesterday was one of 'those" days.

The West deck will be 32' or so long & 10' wide. Since it goes over the garage end of the house I don't want any support post in the way of vehicles(IE:wife:laughing:). A few years ago I scavenged some bridge I beams, two 44'x16" & two 44'x12". I used the tracor to lift one end up of a 44x12"er and placed an axle under it so I could move it out of the pasture. I then got out my not so trusty torch set to cut off several smaller railing I beams and cut the beam to length. My oxygen regulator was pooched...leaking bad. So off I went to the pawn shop to pick up another set. I went to 3 in one town & they had none, in the second town they had 3 sets so I bought a Harris set up with regulators, hose & torch for $65. 20 miles & back home...yep then dang thing leaked at the oxygen regulator too. So I put my gas bottles & cart in the truck & went back, got my money back then tried the other two sets...both also bad.

I had noticed a brand new Victor set thay had in a locked case for the past 3 or so years marked $365{gulp}. After some negotiating I got them down to $175, so I bought it. 20 miles back home I got it all put together, fired it up and started cutting(whoohoo)....then ran slap out of oxegen:cool:

Back to town today for a new bottle & finally got the thing cut to length. If the rain holds off tomorrow I will get the wheels back under the now 32' section and tow it up to the house with the tractor. I will use the remaining 12' section as the one post cemented in the ground at one end, the other end will sit on the retainer wall.

Trouble with Photobucket..stand by....

375 down to 175 wow! nice haggling :)

Well...kinda....... they are Victor Advantage II originally sold through Sam's club & no longer made and not the top of the Victor line by any means. I looked them up after I got home and a fleabay seller has them for $153 shipped to the door. But, having them "now" and "here" was worth a few bucks to me. Besides I have in the past got some really good deals at this shop, so I am still way ahead of the game. For instance last year, I picked up a 1978 Delux Sporter 10/22 in perfect shape w/walnut checkered stock for $160....it just doesn't get any better than that:thumbsup:
