Well...kinda....... they are Victor Advantage II originally sold through Sam's club & no longer made and not the top of the Victor line my any means. I looked them up after I got home and a fleabay seller has them for $153 shipped to the door. But, having them "now" and "here" was worth a few bucks to me. Besides I have in the past got some really good deals at this shop, so I am still way ahead of the game. For instance last year, I picked up a 1978 Delux Sporter 10/22 in perfect shape w/walnut checkered stock for $160....it just doesn't get any better than that:thumbsup:

Dang! I need to start building a relationship with my local pawn shops.

Problem is any I used to visit are now out of business.

Hitched up, although I did have to stop and loosen the chains a bit since I was unable to make a tight enough turn;

Hey neighbor (well almost) ! I've been wanting to follow your thread but was so busy with our house project that I wasn't able to keep up with yours. However, my schedule has calmed down recently so I've just finished reading your whole thread. Your house is looking awesome! I'm very impressed with the work you are doing. It's even more impressive since you are mostly using the lumber off your property that you cut and milled yourself.

I'm curious where you picked up your sawmilling and welding skills? With those two abilities in your toolset, it seems you can do a whole lot of neat things that would otherwise be out of reach.

Yes, Obed we have had our hands full eh? We went different directions on our build but you place is amazing. I do think you have had more stress than I have since you had to worry about the jobs everyone else was supposed to be doing. I had to worry about myself, and let me tell ya, "myself" is a handfull:laughing:

Welding & milling skills? Ha, that's a work in progress. I did a lot of internet research(makes me an expert right?), then bought a chainaw mill, then another, then realized if I wanted to get my house built before go senile I better get a bandmill. Then I just got out there and started cutting up logs & any questions I have I go here and the expert help me out:http://www.forestryforum.com/board/index.php?board=7.0

Same thing on the welder, did some research & bought a Millermatic 210.....even a chimpanzee can Mig weld, so I figure I can do it half as good as a chimp:D It's easy to learn this stuff when no one else is watching all those mistakes:cool: I have to say the welder has paid for itself 3-4 times over in just the 5 years I have had it...fantastic machine to have on a farm.

Rick,
I have to admit that I'm jealous of the hitch receiver you welded on your box blade. I've been wanting one on my BB so I can pull my log splitter around the property without having to remove the BB. I read how you modified your BB with the hitch attachment. I suspect I will get someone to modify my BB. However, getting my BB to a welder's shop sounds like a bit of a hassle. That's mainly why I haven't done it yet.

Eddie,
A Mule would be very useful. And it wouldn't be as tipsy as my tractor. However, I have to prioritize. Also, I hesitate having another gas engine/vehicle to maintain. I already have 4 cars/trucks, tractor, log splitter, riding mower, push mower, leaf blower, 2 chainsaws, hedge trimmer, Colegate toothbrush, etc.

When I get my riding lawnmower from my dad's house, I think I may use it to pull the log splitter around.
