Very Cute poem that is Eddie. It is amazing how such a simple thing as taking a wild baby pig home for a pet can lead to a life all it own that takes you to places you would never have dreamed of. Enjoy the ride while it lasts. Merry Christmas Eddie and Oscar. :):)

Cheers :drink:

Here's a little ditty I 'rote in Oscar's honor. Merry Christmas Oscar:D

Oscar the red-nosed wee-ner,
Was a happy mud-soaked pig.
And if you ever saw him,
it would make you dance a jig.

All of the other ferals,
used to laugh, and call him runt,
But he came to live with Eddie,
while they were left to root and grunt.

Then one rainy Christmas Eve,
Eddie came to say,
Oscar I'm gonna post your pic,
in a Facebook kind of way.

Then ol' Oscar squealed "Wee! Wee!,"
as his nose began to glow.
He thought, "I'll become a Facebook hero,
and end up on the Oprah show!"

Jim,

Thanks for the poem, it's really good!!! You made me laugh when I read it, and now I'm going to have to steal it and post it on facebook!!!!:thumbsup:

Very cool story!

Does Oscar ever see/have contact with other wild hogs? If so, what is his reaction?

Thanks.

We've ran into groups of hogs several times while out on our walks and he nows they are there because he goes into a sniffing the air ang ground overdrive, but that's about it. This last hog that I shot, Oscar was acting kind of funny, which made me think their where hogs around, but then he calmed down. It was about half an hour later that I spoted a group of four hogs and Oscar never reacted to them. After I shot the one, he didnt seem to care about it. On other hogs that I've shot, he sniffed them, and even stood on top of them, but this time it was totally different. Just no interest at all.

Merry Christmas to Eddie, Oscar and all. I thought my wife would find this thread was cute and I had her read it. Not only did she find it cute... now she wants to get a baby pig for a playmate for our dog!!

I have several friends that now have pot belly pigs as pets. They are all girls, and they have always wanted a pet pig, but never went out to get one. After meeting Oscar, they had to have one and did so within weeks.

They start out tiny, but will grow very quickly. Be sure you realize how big it will get!!!

I had forgotten, but years ago my cousin and her husband had a pet pig, even had it house trained with it's own litter box. The had it for over 3 years in Minnesota until they moved to Virgina, condo association in VA was a bit funny about having a pig at the place. Their pig never got more than 30 lbs, I'll have to check to see what kind it was.
