My L3800 TL became a TLB last week. I installed the BH77 myself, which was pretty well straight forward. Removing the rear wheels makes installing the sub-frame easier but can be done with the wheels on. Total installation time including a coffee break or two was about 2 1/2 hours.
I just had to try it out so the stump in the corner of the yard (where I cut down some trees this past fall) was my first project and learning experience. This stump was from 3 trees that had grown together and each had about a 12 inch diameter. I was able to dig around them to break the roots and then break each stump apart from the others.
It took me about 2 hours to do this mainly because of the learning curve. I could probably do the same job now in about 45 minutes. By the way the thumb was definitely worth getting. It made lifting the stumps an easy job.
I believe the only real complaint I have with the BH77 is that there is no leg room. I addressed this by moving the seat back 4 inches. I used 1/8" X 1 1/2" aluminum angle I had on hand. I found this made working the controls easier since my knees were no longer in the way of the leavers.
