Here are a couple of pics. I was able to pick up my frame today and hope to get started on finishing it soon. Don't want to hi-jack your thread so I will move back to the one I started. Thanks for the advice.

HCJtractor, it looks like you have a fine quality machine now for much less $$$ than buying new. I'm sure you will never regret the time and money you invested in it.

Man that disc is huge! Any idea what that bad boy weighs?

Real nice restoration, look forward to seeing some action photos.

Thanks guys! I really enjoy giving old stuff new life. I guess it weighs close to 3,000 lbs. I can't wait to use it (and see if my tractor will pull it) I will be really sad if it bogs down. Here are a few more pics. I am close to finishing it. I still need to attach the new cylinder and try out the hydraulics, but my tractor is at the farm and the disc is in the city at the shop. I have to figure out how I can transport it. I guess I will have to go get my tractor and trailer and use it to load it. Hopefully it will lift high enough to go up my trailer ramp, but if not, I guess I could even pull it down the highway with my truck (at 20 MPH) but I really don't want to do that. I know my FEL will not lift it so if I trailer it, I will have to drive it up onto the trailer. I will take some better pictures when I get it outside.

That project came out awesome ! I kid you not you might want to call Athens Plow - Model 127/167 Pull-Type Offset Disc Harrow
and see if they might want to purchase it back(at a well worth profit) before before you roll it through the dirt. Sometimes they use it as showpeice from past or some ole timer at a company buys it for parade, sentimental value whatever.Someone might say why don't companies buy older stuff and rebuilt it themselves,I imagine some do. I speak from experience I have sold companies stuff (antiques) back crossbows, etc.
Just a crazy thought !

Super restoration. So good, in fact, that you'll probably not want those discs to touch soil:D.

I'd suggest getting a clevis end ratchet jack to raise it into transport mode and pull it home with your truck. Since you put new tires on it and redid the wheel bearings you should have no trouble pulling it home at a decent speed. Just make sure to check the air pressure in the tires. A set of magnetic tow lights to put on the plows extremities wouldn't hurt either.

I'd pull it.
My 13-ft Minneapolis Moline KS1300 disc was part of a deal on a new tractor at my dealer's place (Dave's Tractor in Red Bluff). I saw it there while paying a social visit and bought it. The customer towed it down I5 and Hwy 99 about 40 miles, IIRC.

Dave delivered it to me on one of his gooseneck trailers.

He brought along a forklift on another trailer

DSCF0121 (Small).JPG

Needed the forklift and my Mahindra 5525 with bucket forks attached to lift it so the goosneck could be moved out of the way.

DSCF0127 (Small).JPG

Dave had to remove the hitch on the wheel disc to be legal side to side.

Dave's a good guy:thumbsup:

Thanks Mace. I already have a jack just like that which is how I have been operating the lift assembly temporarily. I think I agree with you that pulling it is the way to go. I can get a buddy to follow me to make it safer. Its only about 25 miles. THe manual says not to exceed 20 mph, but that seems a little slow. Of course, I will take my time. At just a hair over 8 feer wide, I should be OK.
