If you didn't get vertigo from those photos try watching this video:
Climbing A 1786 Foot Tall TowerVideo

:D:D:D

Oh, man, I have seen that before .. & still HATE IT!!!!

Thoughts pouring thru my mind, like "what if my hands or forearms freeze up & I just fall backwards off the tower?", "What if my hands slip out of my gloves?", "What if one of these little step bolts breaks off?", "How long have these welds been out here in the weather??", etc etc etc etc

I thought that video had been sort of "confiscated" due to various OSHA and/or NATE violations ... oh well.

Here's a mountain-side trail we went on in Switzerland. Not enough actual "trail" to go around the corner, so they just slapped a little corner bridge on there, & kept on going. Trial leads to a mountain-side restaurant

4,000 - 6,000 screws, is that really possible?

There's only twice as many nails in a shingle roof that size.

JB

3300 sq ft plus overhangs x 1.5 (12/12=1.414) could easily hit 5000+ sq ft.

Easy rule of thumb is 1 screw per sq ft.

I thought I was high at 90-125' working for our power utility company. I would believe that its an old video. Safety police would have the guy locked in all the time with a slider rail. I'd hate to be the guy installing the new safety equipment. I think i pooped my pants just watching.

A couple of photos of the roof. I should add that re-flashing the chimney will be added as well. First was taken last summer, second on today. I'm not sure you can see the screw heads but they are both in the flats and on the ridges.

Wow nice house.
How many "failed" screws do you have? It may be reasonable to do it yourself with a rope over roof peak that holds the ladder flat on the roof. I would consider it, if its just rescrew a few screws here and there, but if your going to rescrew it all, let him do it. You'd be there for three weekends.
Thanks for the pictures.

Beautiful house, but is it 3000 sq ft house or 3000 sq ft roof?

Any way being 1 storey (at the eaves) you could just lay a ladder on the roof from the ground, you just need help moving it. on the back might still need a hook ladder.

If you lived closer I'd come and do it for you with little drama :)

Ditto....$2K...No Way.

I honestly am not sure how much work is involved, I would have to figure time and material, I'm just pointing out it looks like a fairly simple roof to work on, someone had suggested it could be close to 5000 sq ft, and need 5,000 screws, but it looks closer to 2,000 sq ft to me. The higher estimate was for single storey house I'm sure.

I'd get it done for him, might be ~2K anyway. I like to make as much as possible
