One of our techs discovered the oil pump port block installed incorrectly in a "ticking" T1510. A nut protruding from the back of the port block was contacting the #1 connecting rod, or maybe a counterwieght on the crankshaft. I don't remember which (I wasn't directly involved in the repair). A properly oriented port block fixed it.

Just a quick question, Can you tell me if I should continue using my tractor while I am waiting to hear about where and when to bring it in for the repair? Thanks :)

I have stopped running the tractor completely just to be on the safe side but I don't use it for a business either. I talked to my rep today and as soon as I hear something ill let u know and vice versa if u don't mind.

Jaymar421-Since your NH is still under warranty, the dealership is responsible for pick up and delivery if service work is needed. Everytime mine has been in the shop they have picked it up at my house. They are roughly 45 minutes away. The dealership owner said they just charge it to warranty.

Manufacturer's warranty DOES NOT pay the servicing dealer for pick up & delivery. Many (most?) dealers do not charge customers for travel for on-site waranty repair or pickup & delivery to the shop, but those who provide that perk to their customers absorb the cost. The time is billed to the warranty work order, but the cost is not reimbursed, it is written off. If a dealer other than the selling dealer is performing warranty work, there is a greater possibility that the owner will bear transport costs which the dealership is completely within their rights to charge.

Sorry for that wrong info. I was just going on my personal experience with my dealership. Thanks Rick. We are trying to stick together so I appreciate that

Happily your dealer is one of many that eats the cost. There's probably no way you would have known they were not being reimbursed.

About the only time a manufacturer pays pickup & delivery or travel time to a unit is for a manditory safety recall or other critical campaign (recall) where the manufacturer's ***** is hanging out in the breeze and a 100% completion rate is desired.

My question would be . Why do these customers have to go out of the local dealers area to save money. Why arn't these machines priced closer.

The cost of doing business isn't the same everywhere.

Theres a lot more to it then I know but the dealers know roughly how many tractors they expect to sell and at how much profit they need. My local Kubota dealer was going to sell me a tractor for $44k, when I told him the dealer the next county over (but distance wise not that much furthur) was at $42,500 so I had to pass he was shocked. He pulled the actual invoice to show me what the tractor really costs them which was around $41k. The other dealer however sells a lot more tractors and can afford to make less per unit then this dealer does. This guy is small and the other dealer is quite large with a couple stores in a larger market.
