Well, fake or not, I hope they winterized their equipment at the end of the season. Per the varyious weather shows, Alaska's having one cold winter. I just saw where one place might have seen minus 80.

I am watching the latest episode of gold rush, and just heard the most Bull$h1t thing ever on that show. They needed a final drive for the 400, said there were only a few in the world. Come on, it is a very popular excavator. In a 2 min google search, I found a company in canada that stocks them, not to mention they could just go to a hitachi dealer, and get the parts in a few days.

And since Deere now owns Hitachi, and they have one of the largest parts supply networks in the world... I'm sure they forgot about that... The more I actually WATCH the show instead of watching it, the more I realize this is fake.

Regarding the parts for the 400, this is the problem with a show about people doing something they don't know anything about...like mining gold. Eventually, they'll say something stupid but the show presents it as fact. Perhaps they simply really believed what they were saying. Kind of like Wiki or anything the Kardashians say - it's mostly crap. They're more pitiful than dishonest.

Except gold rush is scripted.

I was rolling down I-10 yesterday and passed three trucks in convoy. 1st had a big excavator on it, 2nd had a great big loader, and the 3d had what appeared to be a gold dredge simialar to the one the old Dakota is using.

Havew no clue where they came from or were going.

I thought about the same thing......I also thought the safety inspection to be staged, and although I`m for individual rights, I do think there should be a plan to restore the holes to at least a generally flat plane......The grandfather and the grandson are what keeps me watching...Tony
