I'll try to help you out-I'll give you $825 if you'll fix the tail light and deliver it!

Just kidding-I'm getting ready to burn off my grass and having a fire truck would really be nice. Not to mention that just about every kid I knew when growing up wanted to be a fireman!

Great find. I'm envious!

:thumbsup:That looks to be a sweet deal on a solid looking piece of apparatus. The pictures make it look like you have most everything you need. "Just Add Water". As mentioned before, keep it drained. Those front mount pumps will freeze up fast when the temps drop.

I hope you get a lot of fun out of it. It is good to see some of the older units finding good homes. :)

That's really neat! Reminds me of my home town of Ames, Oklahoma. Their first fire engine was an old converted gasoline truck. The first fire they went to was a real doozie! It would have burned itself out in an hour or two, but they managed to keep it going all day. ;)

LOL. Did they forget to take the gasoline out first?

Ken4510,
The booster reel hoses came with the adjustable nozzles on each of the reels with 1.75" hoses. All I need are the two rigid 4" 10 foot hoses (non collapseable) for the suctioning of water to fill the 1000 gallon tank. Mabybe later two 2.5" line hoses 50 to 100' to assist the booster lines. Unless we inherit one or two hoses. I have two valves for the two sets. Talked to the fire chief here and asked about availability of the rigid hose. Darn they were transferred to the new truck:(,

Yes I do agree I was at the right place at the right time - told my wife it was my destiny to have a spur of the moment purchase.

Barnone,
The $850.00 bid does not get near the price just to replace one booster reel. Sorry.

Rmully,

Exactly, one big pressure washer to wash all our equipment. Tractor only gets a distant shower, scrub then rinse. The pressure that I could use is out of site. This way it will be a multi purpose unit.:)

I had a wrecked iton 84 Chevy fire pumper truck. I have a friend that lived out near the middle of a 400 acre pine tree plantation. He was worried about fire control. I made the front frame a tongue and added an 260 gallon tote in addition to his normal tank on the truck. The pump had the same rotation as the tractor pto so we put a shaft to it. He had 3 totes on standed that cought rain water hat he could pull under to fill and also a 2 inch pump at a pond. A few summers ago it got bad dry and local boy was setting fires. My friend was at home when someone set fire to his sage feilds. He called the Fire dept and also forestry service and it was going to be 10 minutes. He had his rig hitched up and stopped the fire on his house and barn. The ready filled totes helped for fast refills to.
