I'm going to look into my bank to see if they would do a loan for a tractor, the MF dealer told me he could do it for $17,900 if i didn't use the financing

0% is only marketing hype, the only way to compare financed pricing, is to compare the monthly payment x number of months you want to pay for it in. That is a fact.

0% is marketing hype? Uh, no, not if you can do very, very basic math. Heck, you don't even need to do the math yourself - there are dozen's of free online loan calculators.

There's only a few important #s to enter: Purchase price, loan term (length in months) and interest rate, and amount of down payment, if any. Of course you do not compare tractor purchases by only looking at the manufacturer's offerred finance rate.

I'm guessing none of the brands at your dealership happen to be offering 0% right now? Bummer.

I have purchased my recent CUT with implements for 18% off msrp and still used the 0% 48 month financing available at the time. The x749 was 15% off but had a higher finance rate for longer terms so it was better to pay it off in 12 months at 0%. That said you should be able to get a 10 to 15% discount and the 0% for 48 to 60 months ( what ever the current offer is).

I do have the option to sell at 0% for 60 mo., but rarely do because I can usually get the customer a lower 60 month payment by using the 4.25% option. I usually figure the deal both ways, and I know the payment will be with in 2 to 3 dollars. A couple of factors, how much is being put down on the deal, and if sales tax is applicable, will throw the lower payment to the 0% or the 4.25%. Any how which ever route gives my customer the lower monthly payment, is the way I put the deal through. You have to realize that the dealer has to pay money up front to get you the 0% which makes his cost more. If the dealer doesn't offer you the discount for your using the higher rate, then you wouldn't realize the difference and the dealer would smile all the way to the bank with the extra money he put in his pocket.
