How far to the nearest grocery store?

4 miles to nearest gas and mini-mart. I never go there.
6 miles to grocery and small department store
6 miles to Shell station I do go to.
6 1/2 miles to Post Office. I never go there.
11 miles to the Community College where my wife teaches.
12 miles to Lowes
13 miles to Walmart. I never go there
13 miles to nearest Hospital. I never go there.
75 miles to the Hospital where my wife works and where I have spent several unpleasent days and night. in a bed at different times.
Anywhere from 6 to 15 miles several restaurants.

It's about 1/8 a mile to the National Forest; about 1/4 mile to the State Forest; about 6 miles to a small mom & pop's grocery store; about 15 miles to the Bob Marshall Wilderness as the crow flies; and about 65 miles to Walmart. KC

I probably have all you beat so far. 35 miles in to Cuba, NM where there is a small grocery. (Anyone ever been through Cuba, NM?) 100 miles to Farmington, NM where they have everything you'd expect to find (Walmart, Sam's, grocery chains, etc), 120 miles to Albuquerque, NM (lots of shopping) and 80 miles to Espanola, NM (Walmart and several grocery chains). Oh yeah, Dulce, NM is only 70 miles away and they have a casino and several convenience stores for beer!

I have a book about the Narrow Gauge RR that went through Dulce. It's running again as a tourist thing.

People in the big city (Baltimore / DC metro area) think I live out in the country since there's working farms and open land out here, but not in my mind it's still more "suburban".....1 mile to small town with gas / c-store and small grocery with enough to live on, but nothing "specialty" or "high end" like you get in big name brand places. Also has one of the counties best all around family owned hardware / lumber.

6 mile to next town with name brand store and pharmacy.

10-12 to "everything else" / city -- Big name stores for anything you can think of.

And the "city" creeps closer to me every year.......My only consolation is being surrounded by a huge family owned farm operation that is growing - hopefully never will be sold off to grow houses instead of cows / corn.

4 mi. to a small town with 3 gas stations, half a dozen restaurants, only the pizza parlor is any good, and a grocery store about the size of what you would see 40 years ago and there's a hardware store that is out of whatever you happen to need right now. 20 mi. to Costco, never go to Walmart. Also 20 mi. to the burbs with Fred Meyer, a PNW chain with supermarket, clothes, gardening and hardware all in one place. About the same distance to Home Depot.
