2nd safari rifle

   / 2nd safari rifle #61
I got it really cheap and couldn't pass up the deal. I planned on making a trip to Africa and thought I would use it on a water buffalo. Never got the chance to go to Africa so never needed to sight it in or shoot it. I am sure it would have left a mark:D

Two possibilities spring to mind.
Thanks for assuming I am a bit of a dolt who wants to hurt myself -- just for your info it is a BPS with a three inch chambered hastings barrel (rifled - not choked) firing 2 3/4 slugs. If you have ever actually seen a three inch shell fired in a 2 3/4 chamber you will immediately know that something is not right. There is no slug on the market now that will not pass through a full choke in any modern barrel (product liability took care of that) There is a third possibility -- that springs to mind -- when you take a projectile of reasonably heavy weight (7/8 of an ounce)and you launch it down a barrel at speeds of 1800fps it generates a lot of recoil -- the heavier the projectile and the faster you launch it, the more recoil it generates --The weight of the device you launch it from must also be taken into account -- the heavier it is the more recoil is absorbed -- course that relationship is part of rocket science so I appreciate that you may have overlooked that possibility:D:D

I assumed nothing of the sort. Just threw out those possibilitys on the chance one of those possibilitys was the case. Better to bring it up and give you and other readers the heads up then to assume everyone is fully experienced with firearms and never makes a careless mistake.
