I purchased a BX skid plate called Under Armor for my BX24 from BXpanded. When I had trouble getting it to lock in the Top position, I emailed Harry and he stayed right on top of it until I was satisfied, emailing me every day with assistance. Turns out, all I had to do was to adjust the Top position down a little by turning in the adjuster at the left rear but it took a few checks to get there.

But the star of this show is Harry of BXpanded. The Under Armor is a great product alone but because of the excellent support and attention to my particular fitment issue is what makes it even better.

A+ top-notch fist bump, whatever ...that's BXpanded.

btw - I really prefer the ability to r&r the Under Armor using no tools in just a few seconds (literally). This time of year, the mmm is off and I really need the extra protection for the hst fan.

THANK YOU HARRY of BXpanded.

I agree. After reading about all of the damaged fans, I purchased the plate also. Harry was great to work with and extremely prompt to emails and phone calls (while I made up my mind). It is very quick to install/remove, so I do use it. It will be sitting in the shop with in the next week or so as the mmm will need to go on. Great job Harry and BXpanded.

I orderded a Piranha toothbar yesterday for my BX2360 via phone. BXpanded seems like great people to deal with. Told me they have make up another batch of Piranhas and mine should ship out by next week. Looking forward to using the Piranha on about 1/2 acre of briars and multiflora rose.

Good to hear! I ordered the under armor and some hooks yesterday, looking forward to receiving the parts.

I have the armor coming as well. I am not gifted in the mechanical department, so it's good to hear I'll be getting some help. :)

I called the guy/owner an talked to him since I have a 2002 BX1800 also. He said he might get around to it late summer, but didn't really seem to be in to big of a hurry to do it. He talked an sounded nice enough though, but we are not one of his priorities right now.

Find somebody with a good metal break an make one your self..........

The folks at Bro-tek are very easy to work with too! They make a good product. The skid plate that I got last year for my JD2305 works great and protects most of the underside of my little tractor.

I'll pile-on. I got the BX-panded Under-Armor plate for my BX2660. When the mower comes off, the U-A plate goes on. Nice product, and I really like the peace of mind.

Out of curiosity what is the difference between BXpanded and Bro Tek?

Look at the pics from each co. an you can see they are very diff, but do the same thing.

From what I could tell, BXpanded plates only fit the newer BX's (xx50) and beyond. Looks like Harry's go on much faster though. But for my 2230, I went Bro-Tek. Hopefully can get some time this weekend to put it on.

I have a Bro Tek and in looking at the Bxpanded, it "looks" like you remove it when you mount the MMM?

Correct. In fact, that is what makes the BX-panded nice. It mounts and unmounts using the mower lift control, which also give you unfettered access to the undercarriage for service when needed. When the BX-panded is in place, it provides a lot of coverage. However, it isn't truly a "skid plate" (thinking of my Jeepin' day) in the sense of dragging is over rocky terrain and carrying the weight of the tractor on the plate. The BX-panded plate would be damaged if you tried that.

I can see where that would be nice, but I remember seeing a member who had a fan destroyed even with the MMM on; unusual but not impossible.

It's a moot point for me in that I already have the Bro Tek on and have the front plate for when I take the MM off, but if I was buying new who knows.

I have other tractors, so if it gets very bad, I just use something with more clearance.
