BXpanded

The folks at Bro-tek are very easy to work with too! They make a good product. The skid plate that I got last year for my JD2305 works great and protects most of the underside of my little tractor.

I'll pile-on. I got the BX-panded Under-Armor plate for my BX2660. When the mower comes off, the U-A plate goes on. Nice product, and I really like the peace of mind.

Out of curiosity what is the difference between BXpanded and Bro Tek?

From what I could tell, BXpanded plates only fit the newer BX's (xx50) and beyond. Looks like Harry's go on much faster though. But for my 2230, I went Bro-Tek. Hopefully can get some time this weekend to put it on.

I have a Bro Tek and in looking at the Bxpanded, it "looks" like you remove it when you mount the MMM?

Correct. In fact, that is what makes the BX-panded nice. It mounts and unmounts using the mower lift control, which also give you unfettered access to the undercarriage for service when needed. When the BX-panded is in place, it provides a lot of coverage. However, it isn't truly a "skid plate" (thinking of my Jeepin' day) in the sense of dragging is over rocky terrain and carrying the weight of the tractor on the plate. The BX-panded plate would be damaged if you tried that.

I can see where that would be nice, but I remember seeing a member who had a fan destroyed even with the MMM on; unusual but not impossible.

It's a moot point for me in that I already have the Bro Tek on and have the front plate for when I take the MM off, but if I was buying new who knows.

I have other tractors, so if it gets very bad, I just use something with more clearance.
