This is an example of extreme weather as precipitation. It seems as though your making a correlation to temperature?
Bad example...try to find examples of low temperature extremes.

It is not the extremes one is concerned with it is the average.
Consider that organized weather observations and compilation has been around one-hundred and fifty years. The standardization of measuring devices (thermometers, barometers, hygrometers, etc..), occurred about the same time. Any weather observation or record taken before the 1940's is of dubious accuracy. Not all recording stations were equipped with calibrated devices. Other contributing factors are locations of measurements taken. Most current Official observations are taken at an airport. Many cities had no official recording station till airports became common.

Actually if you listen to the Gullibal Warming people - Gullible warming causes too much precipitation, too little precipitation, too much rain, not enough rain, Too cold temperatures, too warm temperatures, Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Floods, Frost, Hailo and on and on and on.

It's "their" job to convince stupid people that every thing related to what Mother Nature does is acause and effect of Man.

Sooo, actually there is not an example that can not be used to dispel Gullible warming, since everything is blamed on Gullible warming.

I wonder what folks who live in low lying coastal regions (disproportionate percentage of the wealth in real estate) think about the melting ice and the downside possibilities of ocean levels rising?

On the other hand, folks who live a little higher up and farther from the beach could see their holdings appreciate significantly for a while at least.

Pat ;)

Even the so-called scientists say that it would take hundreds of years to melt the Antarctic Ice sheet. The same scientist postulate the increased ocean warming will actually increase precipitation over the continent. Melting of the pack ice shelves would create no significant rise in ocean levels.

Yes the oceans will change. Again. Nothing that is happening now is new. It's only a concern now because people are involved. If one thinks that the world is a stable platform, all they have to do is look at the great disasters in history. Tsunamis are older than recorded history. Earthquakes, Volcanic winters year round for two to three years.
Mankind should adapt instead of trying to change anything. All it would take is a Krakatoa or Pinatubo to lower the earths temperature by 3 degrees. Then you would have a mad scramble for food crops.

The interesting thing is that many of us will live long enough to absolutely have proof positive of manmade global climate change. Even Limpbaugh and Hannity who will then both claim they told us so.

For 20 thousand years the sea levels have risen with a few bumps here and there. The bumps were "little ice ages".

For the last 8 thousand years the ocean levels has been more or less steady.
This tells me that the earths atmosphere is not stable. It never has been, it never will be.

In your mind what would be proof of man-made global warming?
Oh. And you can't mention any weather event or temperature extreme that has happened previously.

The Coastal sea ice is mostly new ice each year. That ice is composed of salt water. There is an addition of precipitation which is fresh water in the form of Snow and ice crystals. The Fresh water glaciers that move from the Arctic Continent down to the sea can travel many miles from their deposit location mixing and churning as it moves.

Almost missed this one. The actual Glacier Ice does not mix and churn. It flows as a continuous mass.

But surely does mix, churn and bulldoze the strata's it travels over. Just think of all the lateral and terminal moraine or float deposited along the glaciers path.:)

The shelf ice is probably made up of mostly fresh glacier melt water that is of lower density than the seawater and will freeze at higher temperatures than saline seawater. All that cold fresh meltwater may also muck up the normal current flows and when that happens th Merry Breezes may be angered into deviant behaviour.:)
