Oil & Fuel Fuel Filter

I'd think it will come loose before anything bends or breaks. Put a little elbow grease to 'er ,but just be careful.

I am having one heck of a time removing the fuel filter on my JD 2520. Has anyone had similar issue and any suggestions on what I should do? Obviously I don't want to screw something else up in the process.

This is what I would try. 24 hrs. Penetrating oil.Then I would get out of my closet a belt. The wider the better, preferably with plastic buckle.( simce its plastic container)I would wrap a piece of inner tube around plastic container, then the belt and make sure you turn counter clockwise.

( I have been using leather belt with metal buckle on my 2210 to remove the tiny oil filter and since I almost can't get to it, the belt always gave lots of torque and was it removed in just a couple of seconds)

Yes, counterclockwise if looking up from below (to loosen). Clockwise if looking down from above.
Doesn't have left-wise threads. Normal right-hand threads.

Righty tighty and lefty loosey is the only way I can remember which way to turn things!

I'm a little confused here. Are we talking about the fuel filter, or the oil filter?

The fuel filter....the locking collar as shown in Roy's pic post #5.

But the oil filter should turn off same direction as it has right hand threads.

It is the spin on fuel filter,not the sediment filter.

I had an occasion where I couldn't get the fuel filters off my old MF165 I had. Strap wrench didn't do it and the channel locks bent the filter out of shape and still didn't come off. Ended up punching in the middle of the filters through with a large flat screwdriver and got them out that way. I could swear those filters were cemented on. lol

Yeah, had the same thing...mostly oil filters. That can be a real problem if they're installed too tightly.
