Hard to believe $1093 for some hose, short little hard lines, a bracket and two quick coupler for third function.
Keep in mind that most of that cost is for the MSL feature over the NSL standard. In fact, $804 is for MSL feature, so the 3rd function "only" adds $289.

Did you see the sentence right before the one you quoted?

Sorry, I was reading that a little too quick. But yes, the MSL/3rd function option does seem a bit steep. On the H loaders, the MSL also include an upgrade to false rod bucket cylinders (faster bucket dump cycles), but still...

AKfish and Zebrafive,

Thank you both for your input. It gives me some confidence that I am on the right track of thinking that I will remove the loader frequently. Also, that I should be able to get by with the roughly 200 lb. starter weight that I did buy with the tractor.

I went and talked to the dealer today about the single 3rd function connection at the carrier. He was unable to find an order code for it anywhere in his system. He did see the pieces in the parts section. The loader frame portion lists for about $380 and the implement side runs about $340. He's going to call Deere to see if this is an option that can be ordered with the H260 directly.

He also was unable to see locate an order code for the electro-hydraulic Global Carrier disconnect. He did see it for the 673 loader, but not for any of the H series loaders. He's going to look into that as well.

Btw, he's showing May 14th delivery for my 5085M and May 29th for the H260 loader...

You mean the one function multicoupler at the carrier for $380 and implement $340 to replace the two quick couplers mounted below the torque tube. Sounds about right. I think these (at least carrier side) would be included in the 3rd function plus multicoupler package.

Did you check on the three function multicoupler to replace the six quick couplers on the right hand loader mount bracket?

I'm confused.. you guys are bouncing back and forth and I'm lost on what costs what!! :(

Other's that just happened onto the thread must be REALLY confused! :D

pclausen; if you would - after reviewing the details with your dealer - please post those results: with order codes or part's codes. I know that I'd be very appreciative...

Thanks. (And, that's some very GOOD news from your dealer - by the way!)

I am guessing pclausen asked his dealer about the THIRD function Multicoupler which is the one at the end of the boom for grapple etc. And he meant to ask about the THREE function Multicoupler mounted on the right hand loader mount. The dealer must have answered, as asked about the THIRD function Multicoupler. Since that's what he posted about, that's what I replied about.

On my 640 loader JD only offered a TWO or THREE function Multicoupler, with the THREE function, you still got quick couplers for THIRD function at the boom end. On AK's 563 Loader and other's 673 Loaders if you ordered the THREE function Multicoupler you ALSO got a ONE function Multicoupler at the boom end. I would think the "H" series loaders would be the same, option for a TWO function Multicoupler OR option for a THREE function Multicoupler WITH a ONE function Multicoupler (third function) at the boom end of the loader.

I paid the bucks for the THREE function Multicoupler, but could not justify the cost or fabrication involved for a ONE function Multicoupler at eh boom end. I would need brackets and different third function lines that were never offered by JD. Not worth the cost or trouble to me.

Now AK are you TOTALLY confused? :D  :D ;)

AK, In post #282 I detailed costs for THREE function Multicoupler if bought thru John Deere PARTS for my 640 loader.

You should have the same THREE function Multicoupler. I am sure you paid a MUCH LESS buying it with your loader. You should have also got a ONE function multicoupler on your boom. What I do NOT know is if an Implement side was included with the ONE function boom multicoupler, or did you have to buy it separate? I think it should have been included, but knowing JD I'll bet it had to be bought separate.

They changed the Multicoupler on the H series loaders. It can have eight connectors. They use up to six for hydraulic and one for electrical. From pclausen's posts it's hard to determine what it cost when you buy it with the loader. That CONFUSED me! :(

Ok, so the H260 loader I have had on order since January, has always included the following option:

Code 4556 - 3 Function Single Point Hydraulic Connection (Tractor Half and Loader Half)

The cost of this option is $391.00 WHEN ORDERED WITH THE LOADER. This is the larger single point connector that mounts on the side of the loader frame with a large handle that sticks out.

What I have been discussing with my dealer over the last few days, is the single point hydraulic connection that mount near the carrier for the oil lines that goes to my grapple.

Here's what it looks like from the parts catalog:

carrieroil-01.PNG

The 4 main pieces are listed below.

AW35189 Quick-Connect Coupler $388.49
W55095 Bracker $ 23.64
AW35185 Oil Line $ 31.10
AW35186 Oil Line $ 31.80

So a total of just over $ 475.03 for the pieces that goes on the loader frame.

Then there is the piece that goes with the grapple, shown as item 10 in the following diagram:

carrieroil-02.PNG

Details for item 10 as follows:

AW33653 Quick-Connect Coupler $325.51

So all together, it comes to just over $800 for the single-point quick connect to a hydraulic implement connected to the loader frame carrier.

My dealer is still checking to see if there is a way to order those parts with the loader instead of the standard couplers and bracket that comes standard with the 3 function loader frame.
