I know nothing about these people. I haven't called, emailed, or heard rumors of them, but they DO claim to be local to you. I'm curious if they have a pan gasket, or any spare parts for their machines. Home Page

A far better choice is to order a correct gasket from Hoyetractor or LMTC, companies with a long history of supporting the grey market tractors and this forum, with superb customer service.

For what it's worth, the valve cover gaskets on these is very high quality and pliable. You may not even need to replace the oil pan gasket if you're careful pulling it off. I've never pulled any of mine to clean the screen, though I ought to.

How big is the disk you're wanting to use?

What kind of drag are you looking for?

Thats a cool looking tractor, Yanmars are great tractors! I found a few in europe if you google images of YM2000, but non ein the US. I also found a video of a similar model. Anyways, congratulations!

have about a gallon of 10-40, would that work?
Close enough. Diesel rated 15w40 is recommended but I would run what you have for a short time maybe a month, as a flush then after that replace it with the proper oil. The additives in diesel-rated oil help longevity, as the oil loads up with contaminants, becomes more acidic, etc. Short-time use of lesser oil should be fine.

Four quarts will fill it halfway up the dipstick. That's what I put in, given my light use, but the full five quarts of proper oil will protect it better for heavy use. I suspect you will just putter around for the first few hours.

That one in the video looks very similar.
I'm headed to Napa parts to get a fuel filter and new line.
Any parts that have to be ordered I will get from site sponsors.
After looking at the pan this morning that looks pretty basic. I'll run it a bit then change the oil and clean the pickup screen.
I will definitely put some pics up. Of my disc as well, it might be to large for it.
Thanks everyone.

This will help on the Chg sys. It's for your 2000/240 Found it in my folder along with the Bill of Sale. I've had my 2000 for alittle over 4 yrs. now. I about went Down and Out but the problems with the Tractor have been very few. Rebuilt the starter was the most costly repair around 75.00 ;)

I'll see if I can get a pan gasket at the local tractor place before I drop it to clean the pickup screen.
I didn't bother with a pan gasket on mine, Just used permatex 2. I have never had one drop of oil.

I really like that wiring diagram it shows the Thermostart on the Start section of the ignition switch. That is what my 2000 does, it ignites the Thermostart whenever I'm engaging the starter.

I was so looking forward to referbing that horn, well, maybe not.
72 Datsun, that's good to know. The regulator has a fried wire , think it's a ground. It's black anyway. not sure if I can fix it yet.
I think i'll do like 289 says and run it a little tomorrow then change the oil while it's still warm. I'll see if I can get a pan gasket at the local tractor place before I drop it to clean the pickup screen.
How much oil does it take? I have about a gallon of 10-40, would that work?
Pics tomorrow.:tractor:

Just use silicone for the pan, its really just a plate. It takes 5 gts of 15-40 or 5-40 deisel oil or 10-40 will work too. Get a filter from where ever by looking up a ym240 which is the american version which is identical.
